In October of last year, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), backed by the United States, liberated the city of Raqqa from the Islamic State (ISIS) in a major defeat for the collapsing jihadist army that had proclaimed it to be the capital of its caliphate.
Four months later, NATO member Turkey has opened a military campaign in the Syrian region Afrin against the same Kurds who led the fight against ISIS.
The campaign appears to have jihadi expansionist goals. Turkeys government-funded Diyanet (Presidency of Religious Affairs) declared that worshippers in mosques across Turkeyin at least 90,000 mosquesand across Turkish-occupied northern Cyprus will pray for the victory of Turkeys military operation on Afrin, reciting the Koranic verse Surah al Fath (verse of conquest) every day until the invasion ends.

But it is becoming increasingly clear that is again the intent of Turkey toward the Kurds (and Ezidi, Alevi, Christians in Efrin).
This article does a good job of explaining this.
The brazen statements by current Turk officials is shocking.
The seed of the Jihadi conflict is cooked into their book.
Seems like a good time for the U.S. to conduct target practice with Tow and Stinger missiles, with the helpful assistance of the Kurds.
Not sure about the stingers, but I’ve seen some video’s of real fire there. What I saw was prior to this invasion. Turks previously crossed the border in tanks and shot up some towns (near Efrin), I saw video of TOW hitting one tank. Think 2 were involved.
Heard rumor they also shot down a helicopter. That is possible with a simple RPG from stealth in close range.
Am told Kurds are good at such ambush tactics.
