why didnt the fbi notify the oig and congress of the missing texts sooner? they might have been recoverable from provider 1 year retention?
Sessions specifically confirmed to Grassley under oath that he is recused from the email server investigation, the Clinton Foundation investigation and all investigations connected to them.
That said, I'm glad Sessions is taking charge of the missing text messages investigation. Now let's see if he springs into action.

I can only say that if Sessions knows those texts are NOT missing
why would he make a statement that “no stone will be unturned”
on finding out why 5 months of texts are missing today. Late today,
in fact. I am sure he would not make an inaccurate statement like
this unless he already knows they are missing by a conversation
with the FBI and or the DOJ IG.

Ok...I saw the replay of the Hannity interview and Gregg Jarrett said that the texts:
“If the evidence was destroyed, it may have been obtained first before it was destroyed, [obtain] by the inspector general Michael Horowitz, that’s what our Ed Henry indicated tonight that may be the case and if that’s so then you’re going to have destruction of evidence and obstruction of justice”
