Another reason for Q (assuming it’s legit, of course) is to signal, to those who understand the clues on the other side, that the jig is up - suicides, surrenders, and ratting-on make the job much easier, and could unearth even more corruption.

The danger is that they start fleeing or false flagging or assassinating, but if Q is legit, it’s dead-man switched many times over.

Ditto! This is the fight trying to manifest itself as something other than a spiritual battle in high places. To be segued off target is to be deterred and lose the high ground.
