In the 2011 and 2013 government shutdowns the IRS was not allowed to issue refunds.

I don’t really care about the drama concerning it the Government will be shut down or not. This is the drama that makes for good episodes of dancing with the stars. What I truly care about is why with a majority we have inept leaders that we allow to pass CR after CR after CR for now over 10 years? Didn’t they tell us return them to power and they’ll get the job done? Why are we also not talking about a balanced budget or unfunded liabilities at 300-400 TRILLION!?
The headlines of yesterday, today and tomorrow will be well suited for the squirrels in the population who like to jump from tidbit to tidbit

Don’t worry! I got a call last night letting me (and every other SNAP/EBT retailer and user) know not to worry about the government shutdown; “...in the event of a government shutdown, your SNAP benefits will be fully funded for the next month.”
How’s that possible? SNAP benefits are loaded into a users account the 1st through the 14th of the month...so if the shutdown happens and continues into February, how can there be funds for that? Just to recap, I am a farmer/retailer not a freeloader. ;)
