Where I live Lowe’s is not an option (a 30 mile drive each way) - the local Home Depot does not carry the brand or model I was looking for in the store and would have to order it off the online catalogue. Not shilling for Amazon, but sometimes where one lives, it is the only realistic and cheapest option.

You know what I do? Perhaps it's just me, but...

I most of the time go for the lower/lowest price on an item, even if driving and fuel charges add to the cost, where the overall cost sometimes ends up being higher than the more convenient and lower price store. Why? Because when a store gets the hint that their prices are higher than the competition, perhaps they'll lower them to be more competitive, and then, people might have more choices. What Amazon offers, mostly, is convenience, and their prices might be higher, but then, the shoppers are led to believe that Amazon's overall costs to the consumer are "lower" because of low delivery charges and savings in fuel to the consumer, and that's not the case. I wan't the item prices to be lower, and I'll then think about delivery charges and convenience.

I miss Circuit City. The one in my area actually had employees that knew their products and would honestly recommend based on my stated needs. Much better than the teenage lobotomies at Best Buy or HH Gregg.
