On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Wolf,” Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) stated that while he will vote for money for barriers along the border, he’s still a fiscal conservative and won’t vote to spend $40 billion on these barriers.

Oh, well. I’m not sure there’s a totally good one in our senate.
Maybe the message with the broken ribs got through to him.
But he’s fine with the IRS handing illegals billions every single year for unlawfully-claimed EITC and Additional Credits.
And Rand leaves himself an out.
At heart, they’re all for open borders.

The wall won’t cost 40 billion. Funny how it went from 1.8 to 18 to now 40. By the weekend the wall will cost a trillion. The Border wall, like highway should be about 1 million per mile.
The wall should cost between 2.5 and 5 billion. Granted, by the time electronics, drones and additional agents are brought into the mix, that number will rise quite a bit.
Also, a good chunk of the work has already been done. The route along the border has been surveyed, the environmental study completed and at some point there was a contractor who provided a project schedule for completing it. Just dust it off, make modifications and off you go.

Rand Paul is currently on Hannity’s radio show & stated the same thing. He also brought up another idea - that you accept the DACA kids, but you count them against the 1 million legal immigrants we admit each year.
Too techy. Keep it simple and cheap. Claymores. Lots of them. No guards needed. You just hear a BOOM, dont even need to clean up the mess.
40 billion is 20 million dollars a mile. Paul is right. A very good quality Highway should only cost 5 million a mile a full-blown Interstate including mountainous regions should be 20 million a mile.
The Pricks are the people who are using this as a pork project
I don’t want to spend 40 bil. It can be done for less than half of that. So his stand does not bother me. He wants fiscal responsibility, which is a good thing.
