There is a decent way to handle these DACA people. Blanket citizenship is not it. I personally will trade a solution for kids who grew up here to stay here if they are screened, properly vetted and assimilate. This only if we get real solutions to border, employer enverify and good reforms to prevent more of this from happening. Letting kids who grew up here stay is a fair exchange.

I think that’s a perfectly reasonable position.

I'd just as soon see every one removed from the country. Kids of bank robbers don't get to keep the loot.

However I would considering accepting that IF they weren't allowed to vote. And if they did it would be a felony with immediate deportation after a nice 10 year stretch in the slammer.

Adding that would cause the rats to react like vampires having Holy water poured on them. Fine by me.

The problem IMHO is that no matter what sort of limited break you tried to cut these people the courts would intervene and expand it to full citizenship.

You’ll get some 100%ers who will still complain, but in the real world, looks like Trump is putting together a good deal. I mean, you have to give something, right?

I agree.

Also note AG Sessions (who gets far more grief than he deserves) pushing enforcement of drug laws. If you get DACA immigrants with marijuana offenses, they don’t get to stay. I believe that is the plan, and it increases the number of people who will have to leave.

We need to make a deal that satisfies a lot of different parties and Trump is positioning himself very well, IMO.

The parents of the DACA people are rational humans who made a decision to violate U.S. law. More important, over the last year, these same DACA people have called U.S. citizens who oppose their demands as white supremacists, racists, etc. Just based on their verbal attacks we should reject their pleas for relief. See United We Dream policy director, Greisa Martinez, comments https://www.rawstory.com/2017/09/dreamer-slams-trumps-daca-decision-another-sign-of-white-supremacy-taking-over-our-democracy/

Just for the sake of discussion...do foreign nationals (non-citizens) have the right to a redress of their grievances against the U.S. government?

I agree, but how do you judge assimilate? I can't see any court allowing any sort of verification of that...

We need to do nothing .

Daca will end any chance of a Gop president ever again .
Daca flips 4 key red states to blue .
Fl, Ga, NC and TX .

It's a Dem dream come true

It's a trap and a disaster .

It's suicide .

Trump saved this daca trap and he is destroying the country demographics in the process .

Rescind DACA or whatever, jail and fine any employer that hires illegals, jail and fine any school administrator who accepts illegal children and/or parents of illegals in their district/university, jail anyone who accepts along with perps that provide stolen SS# or any other type of documentation, deport then create a data base based on biometrics that prevents anyone deported to EVER have the opportunity to secure a green card, enforce the actual law for once, etc...

Six month warning out of courtesy to employers, administrators, States, and illegals. Heck, even set aside funds for moving expenses. If illegals voluntarily leave, give them an opportunity to receive green cards/put them on a waiting list.

What is proposed to deal with the poor innocent kids and babies sneaked into the country in the months AFTER DACA amnesty is given to these so-called Dreamers? Is it new policy that if your parents sneak you in, you’re home free, along with them? Or are we going to be cruel and hard-hearted and send those late comer Dreamers back to their home countries? Won’t their dreams count?

The “assimilate” prong is nearly impossible to manage. That means long term oversight of each illegal sumbitch. They must go to the back of the line.

Letting kids who grew up here stay is a fair exchange.

The trouble is, if these kids are allowed to stay, their parents and older siblings will be allowed to stay too, because advocates of amnesty in both parties will use the ruse about "not wanting to break up families." So in addition to the 600-700K Dreamer anchor babies, we'll be saddled with another 1.2-1.5 million of their relatives.

They can get in line for citizenship just like everybody else.
