Trump Ends Temporary Protected Status For 200,000 El Salvadorans - Breitbart

President Donald Trump’s deputies are ending the often-extended ‘TPS’ temporary refugee status for up to 200,000 El Salvadoran migrants, which was first granted when earthquakes hit their home country in 2001.

The TPS decision — reported by numerous media outlets — underlines Trump’s determination to enforce the nation’s immigration laws, and to push his “Buy American, Hire American” inauguration-day promise, despite growing pressure from the GOP’s business-first wing, Democrats and their allies in the establishment media.

The decision also pressures Democrats to accept Trump’s immigration reforms — or else run as the pro-amnesty political party in November 2018.

Temporary no longer means permanent.

In the DC/Arlington area, I’d take a guess that 20,000 live around there. Just at the Pentagon McDonalds, there were probably thirty employed there when I was around there in 2010-2013. Great workers, and very capable.

In Arlington, we had a old fashion breakfast grill operation, and all of the grill guys were Salvadorans (probably a dozen).

What I would question...if just in the DC area that 20,000 are forced to leave...how quick will they find people who work at the basic pay-level?

Those poor El Salvadoran Dreamers won't be able to go to college and become the next generation of doctors, teachers and business leaders in the US.

How many anchor babies have been born to these ‘temporary refugees”? Until that absurd practice is ended, it will always be the giant monkey wrench in any efforts to enforce immigration law as a whole.

But it is great that the Trump administration is ending the idiotic practice of allowing temporary status to go on for years and decades.

I’m pretty sure it will be as quick as those welfare-to-work rules go back into effect...

Businesses may have to raise wages to attract workers. Right now, we have a surplus of labor. Wages would be going up, rather than stagnating or going down if we had a labor shortage.

The smart affected employers will begin their personnel search NOW! They may have to increase the wages they pay to recruit and retain suitable US citizen employees. — and THAT is not a bad thing

A Salvadoran restaurant recently opened in nearby Asheville.

Won’t be long before there’s a bleeding heart story in the paper about the family shutting down due to having to go back home.

Wasn’t it recently reported that the same area has seen some huge increase in wealth? Probably can afford to pay a few more bucks for breakfast.

Saw a very interesting factoid the other day while browsing here.

The charge was made that a significant portion of the DACA folks cannot converse in English.

If that is in fact true, it certainly ends the claim they are more like us than they are like their country of origin.

Here: check this out

25% can’t speak English at all, and another 46% can only speak it very poorly. This means 71% of them can’t function here as a Citizen would. Why are we not sending these folks back to the place where they can at least speak the language?
