Build Wall +
End lottery +
End chain migration +
End birthright citizenship +
eVerify +
10,000 more immigration judges and border agents.

This is the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM we need to bring our immigration system under control. Anything less, and the country turns into a 3rd world hell hole within 30 years.

Get this done immediately. Then do national voter ID.

It really doesn’t need to be the entire border. There’s probably places where 80% of illegal crossings happen. You’ll never stop everyone anyway.

It’s not so tough, loosening up on Obamacare two days ago was great—the trouble is that he’s already given up the game with his DACA/border negotiating position:

This is what Rand pushed so hard for, isn’t it?

It’s a big deal, too.

"700 miles? Last time I checked a map the distance between Brownsville and San Diego is a lot longer than that."

1) You have to start somewhere.

2) The concrete barrier "wall" is not necessary over the entire 2000 mile border. They are most useful in the vicinity of urban areas and their outskirts.

It's necessary for a complete wall because those open spots will attract the human traffic. It is like squeezing play dough. It squirts out where it can. So you'd be wrong.

We need all 2,000 miles walled off.

In fairness, the criminals are the parents who brought them here as children, not the kids. Unless they've committed crimes while they were here, they are victims rather than perps.

In fairness, if my parents robbed a bank, I would not be entitled to keep the money. Once the DACA illegals find that they are here illegally, they should go home and apply for permission to immigrate legally. Otherwise, they should be deported.

“But Trump and Jivanka, unfortunately, have been signalling that they want to legalize DACA all year.”

That’s for sure.

Not a single DACA candidate is a victim of our great country. They have already received hundreds of thousands in educational, health, living and lifestyle benefits — by ill gotten means. If somehow we were to give still more to any residents of their home countries, the DACA brats would be absolutely the last who should get any more such largesse. If I taken my children to Tokyo in their formative years because I am *legally* there on business or with the government or a nonprofit or whatever, my spawn are not subsequently entitled to become citizens there—and I was there legally!

I am so tired of the BS that we in any way owe anyone via DACA. In reality, they massively owe us, but we will never be repaid. Just get them out of here!

Has anyone seen “End birthright citizenship “ anywhere from the Administration?

So you gave him a back handed compliment once followed by never-trump BS.

You are a trip.

You are correct, but they are sympathetic criminals. If we can trade a good-will gesture that gives them legal status (renewable annually - if the Wall is being built and immigration enforcement is being funded well enough to deport the rest of the criminals) in return for big changes such as an end to chain migration, an end to the diversity lottery, and funding for the Wall, that’s a good deal.

“but Trump is a bit wobbly on immigration”

He was WAY ahead of all the primary candidates on immigration. I think the Congress he has to deal with is wobbly, so he`s having to fight with bo th parties to make this happen.

But they are already bargained down to a giveaway.

Just look at what the Trump team has proposed before it even negotiates with the GOP Republicans—$1.8B in spending this year for a plan, if the president and congress all agree for the following 9 years as well, that will only increase the amount of the border with some sort of physical barrier by approximately 50% to encompass approximately 50% of said border. If every congress and presidential admin for the next 10 years follows through!

That is a total rollover for no wall. It just is.

Trump certainly is beyond the other Republicans on immigration, but that doesn’t mean much, considering just how bad the other Republicans are.

What’s always worried me is Trump’s soft-spot for ‘children’, which was the main reason he attacked Syria last spring. And it’s not that Trump hasn’t been honest about this - he has been clear, at least to me, that he struggles with sending back the DACA thugs (he still looks at them as ‘innocent’ children).

Time will tell....

"It's necessary for a complete wall because those open spots will attract the human traffic. It is like squeezing play dough. It squirts out where it can.

Statistics say differently. Most crossings happen around urban areas, with far fewer in "deep wilderness/desert". Not zero, true...but not enough to need the same kind of "walling" as urban.

"We need all 2,000 miles walled off."

And the way to do it is to start with the urban zones and expand. You absolutists who think we have to do all 2000 immediately are simply unrealistic.

Yeah, I hated during the primaries that he talked about being kind, etc, to the ‘children’.

Or letting the illegals back in.

BUT he was the only one talking about a wall and deportation, other than when Cruz saw it was a winning side and jumped on the bandwagon.

I’m hoping as well....our country depends on it.
