Ringo Starr will perform two shows in Israel later this year in defiance of the anti-Israel BDS movement that calls for the complete isolation of the Jewish State. The former Beatle made the announcement on his personal website. It comes just a week after New Zealand singer Lorde cancelled her planned Tel Aviv concert after a vocal campaign by BDS activists.
Ringo has chosen a band that includes fellow rock legends Steve Lukather of Toto, Greg Rollie of Journey and Graham Gouldman of 10cc as the All-Starrs. The two shows are booked for Tel Aviv’s Menorah Mivtahim Arena on June 23 and 24.
The visit comes 52 years after The Beatles were originally scheduled to perform in Israel in 1966 – but were turned away by the government of the day who deemed them to be a “bad influence” on Israeli youth.

Yup, with his "All Starr Band!"
I saw a video of a recent concert with much of the same line up, and each band member did one or two of the songs that put them on the map. It was a terrific concert.

But of course. Ringo’s wife Barbara Bach is Jewish via her father. Mother is Catholic. Joe Walsh|Rocky Mountain Way is married to her sister.
The Oldest of the Beatles, and will probably outlive them all.

I remember watching the Beatles first performance ever in America, on the Ed Sullivan Show. (2/9/1964). Everybody was swooning over John, Paul, and George, but I remember saying about Ringo, “He’s so homely, he’s CUTE!” (I was a sixth-grader at the time, and may have been on to something!)
Now, of the remaining 2, he is the better-looking! LOL.
Go Figure.
