Remember when Biden said something like, “A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon we’ll be talking about real money”? Politicians have no concept of what a “million” or a “billion” dollars is since, it’s not THEIR money. (But somehow in the end, they DO wind up with a goodly portion of that same money).
As I understand it, the UN budget, not our contribution, was decreased by $285m. Of course, our contribution will be reduced as a result, but it won’t be the whole $285m. That said, it’s a good start.

Add Pakistan and we’re going in the right direction.
The real problem is the “trillion dollars is OK now” mentality in Congress every year that a budget is drawn up.
That was supposed to be a one-time thing in 2009 to get the economy going again, and now Congress can’t ever seem to lower the budget to pre-2009 levels.
And at a trillion dollars every year, there’s still a LOT of cutbacks that need to be made in the budget, and Congress has got to change its “deficits are no big deal” attitude.
Use the money to help build the wall .

Actually the $285 for the UN was an announced reduction in their two year budget and not a reduction in the U.S. contribution to the organization. And the $255 million reduction was for Pakistan and not the Palestinians.
This is the first vanity in a while that was REALLY worth posting :)
