To: COBOL2Java

It’s a long article, but worth the read (both articles I posted). In essence, there’s a battle going on in the Virginia system with those who are convinced that it’s absolutely broken and has to be overhauled vs. those who say “let’s tinker around the edges”. And of course the illegal immigration supporters don’t like messing with something that might possibly “disenfranchise” their base.

My take is that some are intentionally screwing up the system by making a patchwork out of a voter’s registration record as they move from one district to another. Is it too much to ask the voter to complete a completely new voter registration form after moving to a new address that includes the penalty of perjury certification?

That's what the "overhaulers" want to do - get rid of this capability to just carry your registration over from your old district and re-register. Unfortunately, it would require a change in the Virginia law.
