Iran's female protesters show how vacuous American feminists are
Washington Examiner ^ | Jan 2, 2018 | Nicole Russell

Iranian men and women have been actively and vocally speaking out against their oppressive regime for the last few days. The women, in particular, have provided a sight to behold: Many are removing their hijabs, protesting the Iranian dress code, and literally shouting against Khamenei in the streets.

...

Still, the overwhelming progressive response to these courageous women has been strange, if not telling. Hardly any self-proclaimed feminists have cheered on the Iranian women who are so boldly speaking out against a dictatorship that would rather see them dead than sans hijab.

Conservatives and liberals alike are well aware the Iranian protest is about the Iranian people themselves, breaking free from the shackles of an oppressive regime that has left them economically destitute. But as our country touts a democratic republic and a Bill of Rights like none other, why shouldn’t we demonstrate a vested interest in another country’s search for freedom? We too felt the same yearning more than 200 years ago, we too understand mistreatment and the yoke of a King who hungers for power over others.

...

Most liberals believe that government knows best and freedom should have limits. Iranians disagree and we should applaud, encourage, and support their quest for freedom.

More interesting and astounding has been the deafening silence of American so-called feminists.

...

they’d rather turn their heads and pretend other women aren’t literally fighting for their freedom. Shame on feminist advocates who whine about a tampon tax in the United States, while remaining silent as a fellow woman in Iran fights for her right to speak at all.

Like Rush says...Feminism is a tactic, not an ideology.

Feminazis gonna side with their barbaric bearded brethren; no mystery.

It quit being about 'feminism' years ago; now just another bunch of (hairy) cheerleaders for totalitarianism.

Hard to understand. Feminists just don’t seem to realize they would be among the first buried up to their necks by the people they openly root for.

Cognitive Dissonance, thy name is Leftism.

This story reminds me of the liberal non muslim woman who, in cambridge ma, ran for city council or similar around 2002. Her bio only described how she wore a hijab in the days after Sept 11, 2001 and her alleged experiences of discrimination. Even in cambridge she only got less iirc than 1k votes.

Whether they realize it or not, they’re merely compliant, useful tools for those who would destroy our Constitutional republic.

She should move to Seattle - she would be a shoo-in there.

Persian women saw Instagram and realized if you’re a mullah’s daughter, the rules didn’t apply to you.

American feminists are married to the state. They will go along with almost any prescription in return for a few crumbs.

Iran's female protesters show how vacuous American feminists are

FYI, the Iranian women have been protesting against the insane dress code for a long, long time.

In fact, I have seen pictures of women staring down on the dress code police and the women won the stare. There was probably some dirty works for them later on by these folks or their employers unfortunately.

“Vacuous” does indeed describe American and European feminists. I remember back when the women’s singles champion at Wimblenon made about 3 percent less than the men’s champion. Maria Sharapova and some others protested and Wimbledon soon caved and made the prize money exactly equal. But the men still played the best of five sets while women play the best of three. So it is a perfect metaphor for the corporate world. Women get equal pay for less work.

Where the Muslin world is concerned there is another word for American feminists, “cowards” as they do not want to rock that boat at all even when the oppression of women is overt and undeniable.

That American Feminists get away with all this is, in part, because our side doesn’t publicly call them on it.

Where is Hannity, or Carlson, publicly challenging them to come on the show and explain themselves?
