In collusion news today, the New York Times has devoted six reporters to producing the news that the previously obscure Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos lies at the heart of the putative case. Their story is How the Russia inquiry began: A campaign aide, drinks and talk of political dirt. Paul wrote about it last night here.
I think the story is ludicrous on its face. The Times has served as a prime purveyor of the Trump/Russia hysteria. Yet reality has deflated it. Now the Times returns to pump it up. The names have changed, but the song remains the same.
The Times has lost the thread on its preferred narrative. Indeed, attention has turned to the Steele/Trump dossier and the apparent wrongdoing related to it. The authorities inside the Obama administration who took advantage of it seek to cover their tracks. The deeply felt needs of the Times and its collaborators are consummated in todays big story.
How can any informed observer take this seriously? We await the disclosure of genuine evidence rather than obvious spin. We dont have nearly enough information to arrive at a definitive judgment. We must keep our minds open until we are privy to it. In time I may be proved wrong. Yet I dont think it is rash to say that this Times story is some kind of a joke.
Wall Street Journal columnist Kim Strassel puts it this way in response to Obama hack Tommy Vietors demand that she correct her column on the Steele dossier (one of the dirtiest tricks in U.S. political history). To borrow the Clinton campaign slogan, Im with her.

Sure--when the NYT provides any proof (or names, or sources or anything other than anonymous assertion) for its claims. Funny that the FBI cooks up this story right at the point that the House is demanding to see the documents that will show what really happened.
Did the Justice Department and the FBI present the FISA court with the Steele dossier as if it were a product of U.S. intelligence reporting, or did the Justice Dept skip the whole Steele dossier and just say, “someone heard a drunk guy in a bar make some crazy claims, and so we think we should spy on a presidential candidate”?
Unfortunately it seems like it’s working All the news outlets including FNC are running The dossier is not what triggered the investigation narrative. The fact the dossier was used to obtain the fisa warrants seems to be a buried story at least for now.
It all leads back to one conclusion. Democratic high crimes. IOW, treason.
They are digging themselves a deep hole and they will regret this.
So the FBI did not decide to investigate Trump because the Hillary campaign paid foreign agents, including Russian operatives, to put together a dossier of fake charges against Trump. Instead, they decided to investigate Trump because a drunk in a bar said that the Russians had dirt on Hillary. OK. Got it.
“The Russians have dirt on Hillary? We had better start investigating Trump.”
Laughable isn’t it ?
The useful idiot stocked Obama-Hillary echo chamber has gone to defcon 1 in a fruitless attempt to deflect the White Hat Bombers now that they are dead on over the target.
Watch the AA rounds do...nothing. Noise and flash; Bombers Untouched.
DeSantis has directly called for declassificationand releaseof all FISC applications and supporting materials involved in the Trump IC hit job. Keep your eye on the prize: If and when that happens, no amount of chaffe and AA will stop the atom bomb from exploding on target. KaBOOM. Game over.
Fun times!!!!!!!
At least a dozen committed felonies, and many more committed high crimes. ALL must be impeached and convicted so they can never take another government job again.
Like cockroaches scurrying from a bright light.
"[A despotic] government always [keeps] a kind of standing army of newswriters who, without any regard to truth or to what should be like truth, [invent] and put into the papers whatever might serve the ministers. This suffices with the mass of the people who have no means of distinguishing the false from the true paragraphs of a newspaper." --Thomas Jefferson to G. K. van Hogendorp, Oct. 13, 1785. (*) ME 5:181, Papers 8:632"[I have seen] repeated instances of the publication of what has not been intended for the public eye, and the malignity with which political enemies torture every sentence from me into meanings imagined by their own wickedness only... Not fearing these political bull-dogs, I yet avoid putting myself in the way of being baited by them, and do not wish to volunteer away that portion of tranquillity, which a firm execution of my duties will permit me to enjoy." --Thomas Jefferson to John Norvell, 1807. This slimes article reeks of collusion on the part of the slimes and some deep state scum bucket. I smell a desperate play by the Fusion GPS crowd here. Prosecute them all, Mr Sessions or resign your damn job.
In other words, it stinks.
Who doesn’t have dirt on Hillary lol. The Egyptians have dirt on Hillary. The Ukranians have dirt on Hillary. The Libyans have dirt on Hillary. The Serbians have dirt on Hillary. The Syrians have dirt on Hillary. The Iraqis have dirt on Hillary. The Israelis have dirt on Hillary. Etc. Etc.
This story is designted to deflect the coming revelations about the FBI abuse of the so-called Dossier in beginnng surveillance on the Trump campaign. If this conversation took place in advance of the time line on the use of the dossier, then it will exonerate the FBI from domestic spying on individuals in a political race against Hillary Clinto.
Was this the ‘evidence’ put forward for the first application to the FISA court that was denied? That unusal denial was a sure indication that the “evidence’ presented was insufficient and had no merit as the basis of an investigation by the DOJ and FBI
THE NYTimes continues to shill for the collusion narrative as it crumbles beneath the power of truth. Time for the Times to stop digging a deeper hole.
