He told me that it was Jackson Lee, a fellow U.S. congresswoman who regularly does this, that this was the third time he personally had watched her bump a passenger.”

I heard that is what she does - buy economy/ demand to be upgraded. She cannot spend HER money, doncha know? and after all, SHE is an aristocrat and you are not.

Yes,that is exactly what happens. This passenger was returning home to find that United had given up her seat. They later told that passenger that the passenger had cancelled their reservation from a mobile app.
If you are headed home, tired, you do not give up a first class seat on the whim of finding another flight.
Some one at United bumped this passenger to make a seat open for SJLee
Who was the unfortunate congressman who spilled the beans on SJL? If it were me faced with the prospect of a long flight next to this fool, SJL, I would have traded my first class seat for the wall seat next to the crapper in the back of the plane.
I don’t know but it can’t be good and it has about an hour hike to get to her mouth. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the distance between a nose and a mouth like that on anything other than a Primate.
Not her money buying the ticket, it’s yours and mine. She just demands a 1st class seat at the counter and pays full price and doesn’t care who they bump. If she doesn’t get her way, she immediately cries racism.
