SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich offered a simple reason Tuesday before the team's tipoff against the Brooklyn Nets when asked why charitable endeavors are important to him.

"Because we're rich as hell, and we don't need it all, and other people need it," Popovich said. "Then, you're an ass if you don't give it. Pretty simple."

Having spent considerable time and money working with several charities and nonprofits such as the San Antonio Food Bank and Shoes That Fit, with which he partnered in October to deliver shoes to more than 200 students at Gates Elementary, as well as the Innocence Project, Popovich has been vocal about serving the community.

Whereas I don't judge anyone, and I applaud everyone’s charity, there is a difference between giving from ‘want’ vs giving from ‘need’. Giving from ‘want’ is giving away money that you could have used to buy something you ‘want’, but don't need. Giving from need is exactly what it sounds like, giving money away that will keep you from paying for something you actually need. In my opinion, many (but certainly not all) of the wealthiest do neither. That's OK. That's their business. That said, they should not be telling others what they need to do.

Popovich is a Never Trumper and a souless coward!

Everything he does should be measured in that context, especially his sincerity.

And the reason that an ESPN article about the charitable giving of a fierce Trump hater was posted is . . ?
