Robert Mugabe dead? Is the Zimbabwe leader alive and safe? where is he now?

https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/879749/Robert-Mugabe-dead-Zimbabwe-leader-alive-or-dead-where-is-he-latest-news

We are now hearing the same rumors on Twitter about George Soros. I doubt those are true, but he is old enough that speculation about his end is reasonable.

There will be few tears shed for either of them when they are gone. Only fighting among the remaining evil about his power and money.

“The taxpayer pays for all of congress’s segments, who then join the frequent flyer programs”

Yes they do. And it was a generally accepted practice throughout the rank and file of govt employees. I’ve seen it. But... it might not be allowed at this point in time... I’m no longer working for the govt and am out of touch with current rules and regs.

Back during my federal employment days I was also attentive at the annual ethics training. Questions were asked, it was a grey area. I chose not to participate. It didn’t pass my smell test. I never regretted my decision to not partake.

For those that don’t know: https://townhall.com/tipsheet/elisabethmeinecke/2012/03/12/outbreak-of-potential-voter-fraud-lights-up-rep-sheila-jackson-lees-district-n687711

True the Vote then compared the socio-economic demographics of the three predominantly Democratic congressional districts in an effort to explain why Jackson Lee’s district could have such a high number in comparison. Engelbrecht told Townhall the group had found no significant difference to explain such a drastic variation in the numbers.

The group began doing research into the abnormalities in Jackson Lee’s district. They took the first 3,800 registrations of the flagged 19,596 homes with six or more registrants and began to investigate further. The group visited addresses and scoured property tax records. The group found many of the addresses were vacant lots or business addresses. Thirty-nine were registered at businesses and 97 of the addresses were nonexistent. One hundred six of the registrations revealed the same registrant registered more than once, and 207 of the addresses turned out to be vacant lots. Meanwhile, 595 registrations had registrants with driver’s license addresses not matching the registration, and many were voting in a district they did not live in. Of the random 3,800 registrations from Jackson Lee’s predominantly Democratic district, 25 percent had critical errors which Engelbrecht believes could result in an erosion of election integrity.

The media began to focus on the findings from the Harris County tax assessor’s office and True the Vote. Shortly after the August 24 press conference announcing the results of the office’s investigation, a fire of unknown origins burned down the warehouse containing all of Harris County’s voting equipment. In total, the fire claimed 10,000 voting machines, which was approximately $30,000,000 worth of equipment.

Every upgrade should be treated as an in-kind campaign contribution. Or better yet, a bribe to a regulator. How many counts would you be facing, Ms. UAL CEO, Mr. Delta CEO? Did you disclose this risk in your Sar-Ox statement?

There ought to be a law that all Congresscritters and their staff fly economy middle seat to experience the joy of being a constituent.

42.7% Hispanic

Surely there is an up and coming Hispanic conservative who can challenge her. S/he will have the tax bill as a great example of how government is for once actually doing something for the people of the 18th district, asking them what the, uh, heck SJL has ever really done for them.

I had to deal with her staff a few times and you can guess the results. Her, that idiot from DC Norton, that fruitcake from Gorgia, McKinney.. All their staff acted like a bunch of entitled jerks.
Most of the staff members I dealt with were okay, some even invited us to outings and events but but those staffers were just awful. Now they’re in embedded in other parts of the government or getting over on disability somewhere.

Better solution?

Force Congress to telecommute most of the year. Go to the Swamp every 4 months for a week. Spend the rest of the time in their home district under the thumb of the electorate.

Imagine the efficiency improvement and cut in operating cost.

Move them away from the Lobbyists and special interests.

Remember, the Constitution does not state the length of the sessions. Only that the congress meet at least 1 time per year and it stated what they time was (time has been changed).

Just imagine the additional freedom.

Texas went a step further, the Texas Legislature meets every other year, unless the Governor calls a special session. It has worked well for a very long time.

“Sweet gig: good pay, great benefits and no responsibility for your actions.”

That’s a typical government job description for hundreds of thousands of them.

I first proposed it to a Politician I knew in Oklahoma, back in the 1990’s. It was practical then, a no brainer now.
