Allowing NK to get nukes in the first place, when we had several decades to prevent it, is/was irresponsible - and put America and the world at risk. In reality, Trump is the first President to have actually taken an appropriate stand on this issue.

This site/link contains a good timeline of the multiple ineffective attempts to stop North Korean acquisition of nuclear weapons:

https://www.armscontrol.org/factsheets/dprkchron

It's actually chilling, and unbelievable to see in summary how feckless we've been in dealing with North Korea.

[ Loose talk about war with North Korea is irresponsible ]

Therefore, tight talk is totally responsible.

If it’s so irresponsible to bring it up, then why is the Washington Post bringing it up?

There are several people who, while they were in Congress or were still rising to leadership posts, were absolutely admired and respected by conservatives. Then, once they reached leadership and/or their public profiles were raised, they revealed themselves to be chameleons, just actors playing the part of a conservative. We have been fooled too many times. Kasich, Paul Ryan, Scarborough, Sessions, and numerous others have deeply disappointed us. Kasich, in particular, is profoundly disgusting. Somehow we must improve our ability to discern the frauds from the genuine article.

He’s a Republican National Committee stable hand. He says whatever is in the interest of the private corporation called the Republican National Committee.

The private corporations RNC and DNC control the majority of federal politicians. Getting these corporations out of the political and electoral process should be a high priority for all people of integrity.

I read this passage: "...First, North Korea is not, as some claim, “sanctioned-out.” We are nowhere near to applying the same type of restraints on North Korea that were successful in bringing Iran to the negotiating table..."

Ah, yes. The "successful" Iran Treaty. We will free up billions of frozen funds, drop international sanctions, plus deliver billions of dollars of pallets of cash (because, in their words, it was so much easier to deal with them that way) in exchange for opening up their facilities for inspectors, and a "promise" not to make nuclear weapons.

Well, isn't that just fine and dandy. Who WOULDN'T agree to that?

Except we don't have free access to their facilities to inspect.

And look at that successful treaty with North Korea that ended up with Madeline Albright clinking glasses with Kim Jong Il after agreeing to give them about $10 million in oil, plus food, sanctions, and oh yes, two nuclear reactors.

I wouldn't mind that liberals are deranged (and Kasich is one of them with an "R" after his name) except that when they make choices that take them down, we will all go down with them.

Sure, let ‘em launch a few ballistic missiles, they’re just bluffing and everyone knows it! Besides, they have to keep us capitalist imperialist aggressors at bay! /sarcasm

Kasich is dope. For years, the North Koreans repeatedly threatened war against the US and, due to soft, pleading talk and feckless US diplomacy, were permitted to develop their nuclear and ballistic missile capacity. Trump’s strong talk against North Korea was necessary in order to restore the credibility of US warnings with China, Russia, the UN, and the North Korean elite.

Clearly, we should keep appeasing North Korea. It’s the only wise option.

Are you serious? Perhaps we should allow Cuba, & Venezuela to have nuclear weapons as well?
