FBI deputy confirmed to Congress that Comey told him about Trump loyalty pledge: report

FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe testified before the House Intelligence Committee that former FBI Director James Comey told him about conversations he had with President Trump, including Trump’s request for loyalty, according to a new report.

CNN reports that McCabe told lawmakers during his testimony this week that Comey told him about conversations he had with Trump after they occurred.

McCabe told the committee that Comey also told him about Trump’s request for loyalty, according to CNN’s Manu Raju.

During his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee in June, Comey said that Trump asked him for his loyalty during a January dinner at the White House.

"I need loyalty. I expect loyalty," Trump said, according to Comey.

Comey said he didn't respond to Trump's request, but the president returned to the subject later in the dinner, again repeating that he needed loyalty. Ultimately, Comey allowed that Trump would get "honesty loyalty" from him.

Trump has disputed Comey’s account of the conversation, saying he never asked Comey for his loyalty.

The revelation could mean McCabe can corroborate Comey's account of the conversation.

McCabe faced a nearly eight-hour grilling from the House Intelligence Committee this week as Republicans ramp up their charges that the FBI, Justice Department and special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigative team are biased against Trump.

So what? Any claim that this is illegal runs into First Amendment problems. The desire of Democrats to criminalize the speech of people it believes to be political opponents is alarming. (See: Rick Perry)

Besides, Comey testified that President Trump never told him to end any investigation. So Comey didn't view the purported "loyalty" question to be a demand to end an investigation. Besides, as chief law enforcement officer, the president has the authority to end any investigation (which again, DJT didn't do).

Comey lies, and McCabe swears to it. Two peas in a slimy pod. Get rid of him.

It’s a lie, anyway. It is part of Comey’s plan to entrap Trump and get a Special Counsel appointed. McCabe is one of the players in that plan.

Trump told Comey he better hope that there is no recording of that meeting. I bet there is one, but not one made by Trump. Maybe NSA or CIA, but Trump knew about it.

What should Trump request? Disloyalty?

Was it loyalty to the President or was it loyalty to the team? If it was loyalty to Trump, did it mean loyalty in the corporate sense which equates to loyalty to the team? I am sure this quisling gave the most damaging meaning, knowing very will he has given loyalty oaths many times in his career.

Seven hours of testimony and this crap leaks out.

Unless McCabe was a witness to the conversation
any retelling of it by Comey is meaningless.

Comey could find any number of people from the swamp that would back up any lie he wanted to tell. It means nothing.

They got nothing, legally.

1. Comey already testified under oath he never felt pressured by Trump. Even Comey’s own quote of Trump was the word “hope” not an order.

2. Rosenstein was Comey’s direct boss and wrote the memo to Trump recommending the firing, and Rosenstein later testified under oath he stood by it.

Since the opposite of ‘being loyal’ is being a ‘traitor’, why wouldn’t the President ask those under him to be loyal ?

The DEMS believe that ‘being loyal’ means that you must be willing to do things that are unconstitutional and illegal and corrupt and immoral for your ‘boss’ because... that is how they’ve always done it.

I am sure President Trump secured a transcript of that conversation. However, he is reluctant to reveal it because it would compromise the secret nature of the access he has.

This also reveals the nature of how President Trump communicates. He speaks with words that can be used two ways. The meaning is with the context. Eliminate the context and you can have him say anything you want him to say.

His enemies are counting on that.

So? A president has a low level bureau director, who serves at his pleasure, and he cannot demand hat person be loyal to him and his vision?

The FBI is too full of itself and sees itself as independent from the executive branch, and from Congress.
They truly believe they should set their own policy without any interference.
Apparently they even think they should have final say on the presidency and are a sort of internal affairs to watchdog OVER the white house.

This is America’s Stasi, America’s KGB.

This is my own quote, but should be on Comey's tombstone.

This from a man that was conspiring against a President and who’s wife got $700,000 from Hillary’s corrupt Money Man.

I don’t see anything wrong with a president expecting loyalty. The American people deserve loyalty too. Comey deserved to be fired, and probably worse. It’s starting to look like this McCabe need needs firing too.

Isn’t that to a tee.

That is exactly what they believe because that is what they did.

Sounds like McCabe is toast. Well done on both sides I hope, as the door hit’s him in the ass on the way to the unemployment line, or is that the jailhouse line?

“So what” was my first thought. The president is swimming in a pool with sharks; makes sense for him to ask for loyalty, if he did so. This story, if true, does not bother me at all.

I don’t know the man, but I think President Trump values loyalty quite highly.

Plus he is/was dealing with a lot of Obama leftovers, so to speak.
