Wednesday on MSNBC’s “MTP Daily,” Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) said it was “premature” to discuss impeaching President Donald Trump because he has not “seen the sorts of evidence that would justify it at this point.”
Coons said, “I’m not calling for the president’s impeachment at this point because I don’t think we’ve seen the sorts of evidence that would justify it at this point. I’m a political realist. It’s a Republican-controlled House and Senate. Impeachment won’t move forward unless there is something that shocks the conscience of the average American and persuades a majority of Republicans this president committed high crimes and misdemeanors. It’s premature to even discuss that.”

Obama actually has cause for impeachment. Ho Hum. Senator Coons reminds me of an actual event that occurred to me. I reported aboard the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER (SSBN 656) back in 1973 and believe it or not the acting OOD who received me onboard was Chief Coon! I won’t tell what passed through my mind when I learned of his name! I will tell that it was one of the best assignment I had in the Navy and I greatly admired Chief Coon and I admired even more G.W. Carver as I passed by his portrait every time I entered my office.
Why is that senator allowed to be recognized by his last name? That name is offensive. He must change it to Racoons.
