House Republicans will need to pass their tax plan for a second time after the Senate parliamentarian ruled that provisions in the bill violated the rules governing the legislation.
"Members are advised that we expect Senate Democrats to insist on a Byrd Point of Order on the Conference Report to Accompany H.R. 1, which is likely to be sustained," said guidance from House Majority Whip Steve Scalise's office, which was sent to GOP lawmakers.
"As such, Members are further advised that an additional procedural vote on the Motion to Concur is expected tomorrow morning, which will clear the bill for President Trumps signature," his office added.
The House initially passed the tax plan earlier Tuesday, with the Senate poised to clear the bill on Tuesday night. A final vote is now expected on Wednesday.

The Democrats, if the party in power, would just ignore this.

Why can the Senate parliamentarian opine on the rules of the House of Representatives?

It just smells of boot in the rear stale communist/demo tactics. Why would anyone think they’d remove that boot ever?

Because they are getting ready to vote on it as it is.
If it doesn’t pass muster, they can’t.
...a guess...

Why can the Senate parliamentarian opine on the rules of the House of Representatives? He's/She's making the ruling based on the bill before the Senate. They have to pass the same bill the House passed, therefore the House bill has to comply with Senate rules.
Bunch of crap!

What, will Democratic House members have to wear KKK robes?
To: jazusamo
Between this article and Fox business reporting, it sounds like there are provisions in the House bill that will have to be removed to pass the Senate Parliamentarian. What are those provisions???

Reportedly these two:

/2 One provision that caused Byrd problems allows 529 plans to be used for homeschooling provision. Other provision exempts colleges from endowment tax if they have less than 500 members. May only benefit one small college in KY.

2017. The Republicans have the White House. They have the Senate. The House of Representative. They even now have a majority on the Supreme Court.
Yet the Democrats still have all the power.
Go Figure.
