As U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley on Monday vetoed a U.N. Security Council resolution seeking to overturn President Trumps recognition of Jerusalem as Israels capital, she also sharply criticized the Obama administrations decision a year ago not to back Israel in the same forum, calling the implications of that move a stain on Americas conscience.
Mondays resolution was backed by all other 14 members of the council the ten temporary members and permanent members Russia, China, Britain and France but Haley declared that she was casting the sole dissenting vote proudly.
The fact that this veto is being done in defense of American sovereignty and in defense of Americas role in the Middle East peace process is not a source of embarrassment for us, she told the meeting in New York. It should be an embarrassment to the remainder of the Security Council.
Haley challenged the right of other nations to tell the U.S. where it should decide to locate its embassy and warned that some other Security Council (UNSC) members may have cause to fear similar interference in their domestic decision-making. [ ]
Haley took a final swipe at the Obama administration, putting its abstention last December into historical context. For decades, Israel has withstood wave after wave of bias in the U.N. and its agencies, she said. The United States has often stood beside Israel. We did not on December 23, 2016. We will not make that mistake again.

Welcome back America!
Our Ambassador seems to be in line with our President.
You go lady!
Another win for decency and common sense.
The fact that this veto is being done in defense of American sovereignty and in defense of Americas role in the Middle East peace process is not a source of embarrassment for us, she told the meeting in New York. It should be an embarrassment to the remainder of the Security Council.

Ezekiel 37:15 - 37:28
15 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 16 As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it: For Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions. Then take another stick and write on it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions. 17 Then join them one to another for yourself into one stick, and they will become one in your hand.
The UN has no power over a decision by the President of the United States. Kick them out of NYC.
One of Chicago city “fathers” said recently that he was going to ask the UN to come to Chicago for “peacekeeping.”
Good luck with that too.
The main reason the US should stay in the UN ,to stop the insanity
The US created the UN in the first place, or rather the leftists here. It ought to be us that destroys it, and without any other wannabe ascendant power gaining recourse in any other way.
Sounds good to me. Make them fly into O'Hare, and station US troops around the outskirts of Chicago, to ensure the UN rapists don't put a foot outside of Chicago city limits. And make every one of the UN troops get an official FOID card before being issued a weapon.

...No blue helmets or blue berets anywhere on US soil.
......No blue helmets or blue berets anywhere on US soil...
...except in Chicago...
Nowhere. Not even Chicago....
Just crack the door...It’s a precedent to be used anywhere by a out of control government here...even your own hometown
If there is any place that is out of control it is certainly the West side of Chicago, but there is no way foreign troops will ever set foot on American soil for any reason whatsoever.
Boykin is just a jackass who can’t admit that 50 years of democrat rule is the real cause behind thug life on the West side.
The US needs to be the one switching out the lights and last to leave when the UN has been abandoned by the despotates that have used it to further their agendas. Staying put grinds them down, and puts them in the position of the Third Reich and Mussolini's Italy in the League of Nations, hooting at Haile Selassie.
