It's too closely allied with things like ‘White Citizens Council’, the “KKK’, Bull Conner and other throwbacks to an earlier time.
Most of us are not only NOT members of those groups but we've never met a person who was... It's similar to the term 'redcoat' - there was a time in our history that calling a person a ‘red coat’ was insulting - but to use the term today wouldn't carry much weight.
