‘We Can’t Take That Risk’ — FBI Officials Discussed ‘Insurance Policy’ Against Trump Presidency

Two FBI officials who worked on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation exchanged text messages last year in which they appear to have discussed ways to prevent Donald Trump from being elected president.

“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office — that there’s no way [Trump] gets elected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk,” FBI counterintelligence official Peter Strzok wrote in a cryptic text message to Lisa Page, an FBI lawyer and his mistress.

“It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40,” Strzok wrote in the text, dated Aug. 15, 2016.

Andy is likely Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe.

Sessions is an idiot to state (as he did several months ago) that he trusts these people to decide whether or not they are in a conflict of interest. He is the top guy. it is his obligation to ensure that anyone working on files in DOJ and FBI is above reproach. Even an appearance of bias constitutes grounds for recusal. Rosenstein, McCable, Strozk, Page, Mueller, Weissmann and others need to be sidelined immediately!

It's said that Flynn was in the meeting at Trump Tower when Rogers came to brief Trump once the special room was setup to safely discuss such classified information (and Trump then moved transition operations to NJ the next day) - but even so, Flynn would know that any conversation with the Russian Ambassador would have (certainly) been monitored.
