Right.

I suppose that you also believe that ticket sales for NFL games is only down by 1%, per the NFL.

:-)

I love seeing this but I’ve reached the conclusion that some American trannies in lust for the National Felon League jocks, would rather watch these anti-American thugs than turn the crap off.

They probably think they don't need us.

Well, they may survive for a while without us, but they will not prosper.

Boycott until Goodell is gone--however long it takes!

Check out the other games and stadiums from yesterday. Additionally, did you see the Army Navy game on Saturday? It was snowing there, as well. Packed stadium.

The Army Navy game has always drawn that crowd regardless of the weather because that game always matters. But NFL attendance late in the season, particularly with crappy teams, had often been affected by bad weather.

The point is that showing empty seats at cherry-picked late-season games really doesn't prove anything. League-wide stats are really the only ones that matter because they include teams still in the hint, as well as the bottom-feeders.

The real indicator is going to be viewership of the Super Bowl. That's when they usually pull in large numbers of casual fans to see the "event". My guess is that the numbers are going to be down significantly this year. People I know who have hosted Super Bowl parties on past uears are not doing so.

The NFL truly will start to panic if the Super Bowl numbers are bad.

Don’t forget that many seats sold are to season ticket holders, and were sold before the season began. So the ticket sales for this year may not be down as much as you might expect. It’s next year’s season ticket sales thay will reveal the actual impact.

That’s what I’m waiting for. That’s when we see how principled these ungrateful morons are.

That number could very well be correct, since most NFL tickets are sold as season ticket packages.

When Breitbart runs an article about declining prices for NFL tickets, they're not talking about NFL teams reducing ticket prices in the face of declining demand. They're talking about the prices of tickets through secondary ticket brokers like StubHub. The NFL teams already sold those tickets months ago, and have pocketed all of the revenue for the full face value of the tickets. It's the ticket brokers who are getting hammered here.

If the NFL is really going to see a decline in ticket sales as a result of this national anthem idiocy, it won't happen until season ticket renewals (and non-renewals) start coming in for next season. I can already see evidence that next year is going to be a disaster for the NFL. One Freeper who was on a long waiting list for the Washington Redskins -- and was expecting to remain on that list for years before he had an opportunity to buy season tickets -- recently began receiving offers from the team for 2018 season ticket packages.

Sorry. No sympathy for a system where a 16 ounce Coke costs $6.00.

Too funny. NFL about to pay Roger Goodell $40,000,000.00 per year for presiding over the demise of the NFL.

Totally out of touch.

I have watched every Super Bowl since they started.

I will be boycotting this one.

We all do what we can!

Ironically, the NFL produced some truly classic games this week for the first time in awhile. Winless Cleveland almost beats Green Bay. Pittsburgh-Baltimore a nip-and-tuck affair. Rams-Eagles also changed leads early and often. The worst* snow bowl in decades. Several clubs trying to keep their playoff hopes alive involved in close games. It was compelling television.

* - the worse the snow, the more fun it is to watch. Global Warming? Bah.

I like it more to people kicking the habit of a drug en mass and watching the street price of the dope tank.

I’m no longer protesting. I’ve moved on because I no longer care. I’ve been an NFL fan since the early 70’s, a Titans PSL owner and season ticket holder since the 90’s. It’s amazing how easy it was to give up.

I now know they don’t like our country and they hate my conservative values. Sudden shows of patriotism wouldn’t matter because they’ve shown who they are. They will have to make it without me. I’m not funding black racists and social justice warriors.

"... tickets for Sunday’s matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts sold for as little as $2."

When people aren't even willing to pay $3 to see an NFL game, you may as well be at the point where you have to pay people to attend.

“And what about the few patriotic players who are affected by these protests?”

They’ve been awfully quiet!

But Hillary won the popular vote so that means we have to bow down to the protestors./S

I watched the last few minutes of the Texans/49ers game yesterday so I could see if the 2-10 49ers would beat the 4-8 Texans. Woo hoo! They did! Not Once did they show the stands. And when San Francisco was about to score the go ahead points there was hardly any noise from the crowd. Cause there was hardly any crowd! Again ... Whoo hoo!

People were willing to wrap their lives around NFL football because they had come to feel some kind of bond between themselves and their favorite teams ...

That's an excellent point, and it's worth noting that this bond began to sever long before Colin Kaepernick and the idiots involved in this national anthem controversy came along.

I've said for years that the NFL took a serious turn for the worse (though it didn't start to decline for some years afterward) when they adopted the salary cap and loose free agency rules in the mid-1990s. After that point, you had so much turnover in a team's roster from one year to the next that this "bond" began to break.

As one Freeper so astutely pointed out a few months ago: "Kaepernick's biggest crime is that he reminded a lot of NFL fans how much they already disliked the NFL."
