It's been 10 months since Washington learned that former British spy Christopher Steele, author of the so-called "Trump dossier," took the Hillary Clinton-funded opposition research document to the FBI, which considered sponsoring the anti-Trump work at the height of the 2016 presidential campaign. Now, congressional investigators have made what is perhaps an even more consequential discovery: Knowledge of the dossier project, during the campaign, extended into the highest levels of the Obama Justice Department.

The department's Bruce Ohr, a career official, served as associate deputy attorney general at the time of the campaign. That placed him just below the deputy attorney general, Sally Yates, who ran the day-to-day operations of the department. In 2016, Ohr's office was just steps away from Yates, who was later fired for defying President Trump's initial travel ban executive order and still later became a prominent anti-Trump voice upon leaving the Justice Department. Unbeknownst to investigators until recently, Ohr knew Steele and had repeated contacts with Steele when Steele was working on the dossier. Ohr also met after the election with Glenn Simpson, head of Fusion GPS, the opposition research company that was paid by the Clinton campaign to compile the dossier.

I remember a stand-in host for Rush had his “former NSA” friend on to talk about how both Hillary and Trump were working against the US with the Russians. The friend went on to say the stuff he knew on Trump was enough that if any of us heard what he formally “knew,” most all Trump supporters would avidly become NeverTrump-type people, as he was.

I believe this was during the general election campaign.

The fact that this revelation is just now seeing the light of day tells you the damning nature of this evidence. Did Ohr arrange or was he in on procuring the slime piece? What enforcement use was made of the dossier's slime?

The key here is for the Committee to get the Justice and FBI types that were involved with the dossier and ginning up the “investigation” into Trump to testify, this week, in public before the Committee. let’s see if any of them take the 5th Amendment; would be real interesting, wouldn’t it for high level officials of the Justice Dept. and FBI to refuse to answer a question on the grounds that it may tend to incriminate them, wouldn’t it??

I think that he is compromised. Someone blackmailed him in some fashion. I believe that he will resign after the 2018 election, which will be at a very opportune time, since the Republicans will probably pick up 4-5 seats. That way, Trump can put in a bulldog successor, and not face opposition for firing Sessions.
