Doug Jones Faces Backlash Over Racially Charged Campaign Flyer In Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A racially charged campaign flyer sent to black residents in Alabama’s Senate race is provoking a social media backlash for Democratic nominee Doug Jones, who is scrambling to mobilize black voters against Republican Roy Moore ahead of Tuesday’s election.

The flyer, which has been circulating on social media and reportedly came from the Jones campaign, shows a young black man with a skeptical look on his face.

“Think if a black man went after high school girls anyone would try to make him a senator?” it reads.

Multiple people who received it have posted photos of the flyer on Twitter, with some condemning it as out of touch and insensitive.

Michael Harriot, a writer for TheRoot.com, an African-American culture website, wrote that “it has upset black voters across Alabama.”

“Someone, probably a white man, thought that the image would resonate with black people and motivate them to get out the vote,” he said.

To Doug Jones, black people are only worthwhile as voting stooges.

This afternoon, I let my dogs inside the house because of the freezing temperatures.

They like cartoons, so I switched to the Looney Tunes channel on our Roku. Not long after turning on the channel, to my dismay, there was a barrage of Doug Jones ads. Doug Jones ads on the LOONEY TUNES channel. I was shocked.

The ad they showed the most featured several African-American faces and implied that black lives depended on a Jones’ victory.

Another ad could be described as “threatening” voters to vote to “correct” way. The ad stated that every vote would be made public. It was pretty clear that the ad was meant to intimidate voters. Absolutely despicable. Jones is the lowest of the low, even for a democrat.

Although, I must admit, the words “Doug Jones” and “Looney Tunes Channel” are sort of appropriate.

The left is spending a lot of money to win this seat. They are really desperate. Who knows what they are going to pull next!?

His advisors? The dream was made up with advisors from the 1980 Jimmy Carter team, the Al Gore team, Hillary's 2008 and 2016 team, Bernie Sanders team and Jim Webb team....😀

Remarkable that all the previous racist assumptions by the Dems haven’t turned Blacks from them wholesale - says a lot about those who like things like the Black Caucus...

Shades of a Klan flier, just playing up the old Black men lusting after young, nubile White girls.

Thanks for that link Bogie. I appreciate it.

I personally think it’s the Asian work ethic that puts them into the driver’s seat.

Asian parents are relentless in the drive behind their children.

Yes, you are correct. Also their business model.

When you join a corporation you become a member of the family. In Japan, for example, the corp has to close down the entire factory because no one wants to go on vacation while their fellow workers are still on the job.

It's very powerful in terms of productivity.

I thought you would enjoy that essay. There are a lot of thoughtful works, that break through the walls of propaganda, to be found at that website.

Cheers.

I appreciate the additional comments.

That work ethic is sure to be translated to many aspects of the business. That’s good, because a healthy business is a good place to work, whether you get big raises and bonuses every year or not.

There’s a lot to be said for being gainfully employed continually over the years, and a healthy business provides that for you.

Too many people think in terms of only the business benefiting from workers efforts. Workers benefit also in a number of ways.

Thanks again.
