Yes Bella Hadid should cry for many generations of whom she calls “Palestinians”, for since 1948 they have had constant leadership that has always cared more about making war than making peace.

Instead of peace they took there people to war in 1948. Following that they refused to negotiate for peace, in spite of the losses they suffered for having tried and failed to push the Jews into the sea.

They led their people in clandestine, undeclared war, with fedayeen militia attacks into Israel all through the 1950s and 1960s. Changing nothing but merely reinforcing that they preferred war to negotiating for peace.

With the aid and leadership of their Arab neighbors in 1967 they took their people to war against Israel again, and lost again. After Jordan annexed East Jerusalem after the 1948-49 war, she refused to allow Jews to visit their holy places there. After Israel restored all of Jerusalem to Israeli control in 1967, she has not denied Muslims the right to visit their holy places there.

From 1967 to 1970 the “Palestinians” (PLO) conducted a limited war on Israel, aided by the forces of the Egyptian Republic, the USSR, Jordan, Syria, and the Palestine Liberation Organization from 1967 to 1970. The hostilities ended with a ceasefire signed between the countries in 1970 with frontiers remaining in the same place as when the war began. Another war for nothing but war itself.

In 1973, the “Palestinians” with a coalition of Arab states, led by Egypt and Syria, conducted another war against Israel, ostensibly to regain what their previous wars had already cost them. Again they lost.

The 1980s saw the Palestinian proxy wars against Israel conducted from and in the territory of Lebanon.

From 1985 to 2000, Israel felt compelled to sit in a large swath of Lebanon, seeking to keep militias there from reaching Israel’s population.

From 1987 to 2005 the “Palestinians” conducted two “intifada” wars against Israel, and again preferring them to negotiating for peace.

So yes Bella Hadid should cry for many generations of “Palestinians” as ever since 1948 they have been sold the theme of war against Israel by their leaders as their “solution” to everything, and those leaders and that theme have meant nothing but losses for them.

They have had chances all along since 1948 to live together in peace with a state of Israel, and peace has never been their primary objective, which is likely why most of all that they haven’t had it. Yes cry for them, but it is ridiculous to blame Israel.

From late 2008 into early 2009, the “Palestinians” in Gaza attempted to make war against Israel, again, and it’s only “success” was in how much the poor civilians of Gaza lost.

This will all blow over. Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel for decades. It is a fait accomplis even if the whole word refused to “recognize” it, the city is united under one flag.

Moreover, because of the crazy suicide bombers, Israel had to build a partition to separate the outer boundary of Jerusalem. So it is already, in effect, a “walled city”.

I’ve never understood why we’ve seen Berlin united, Germany united, the desire to unite Korea... but for some reason some idiotic thoughtless people think it is both practical and necessary to divide a perfectly functioning, densely populated city. It makes no sense at all.

...kinda like District 9 for loose cannon stateless arabs who have never lost an opportunity to lose an opportunity show themselves as capable of forming a civilized nation-state.

Yes, look what they've done to Gaza since the Israelis withdrew.

I remember hearing years ago, that Jordan did not want them.

People tend to get upset when you try to kill their King.

In fact, Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon all think they are trouble.

In Lebanon they can not buy property and those who already own property may not leave it to their heirs.

As to ‘generations and generations,’ I think I’ll take Mark Twain’s word on what the population and peoples of that area were a mere 150 years ago.

Twain wrote: “...we never saw a human being on the whole route..hardly a tree or a shrub anywhere..” [from Jerusalem to Mt. Tabor ] (from Innocents Abroad)

To pull from Wiki regarding Innocents Abroad: “Many of his illusions are shattered, including his discovery that the nations described in the Old Testament could easily fit inside many American states and counties, and that the “kings” of those nations might very well have ruled over fewer people than could be found in some small towns.”
