Jones Plans To Bring In Black Reps To Boost Alabama Voter Turnout

Democratic Alabama Senate candidate Doug Jones plans to bring in black congressmen like Rep. Cory Booker to rally for him in order to reach black voters as time inches closer to the special election, according to a Thursday report.

Jones and his allies are gearing up to make a final push to recruit black voters, a much-needed voting bloc, to try and secure a victory on election day for United States Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s former Senate seat, The Washington Post reported Thursday.

Alabama Democratic Rep. Terri Sewell has been leading the charge to get Sen. Cory Booker and Rep. John Lewis to come to weekend events, a spokesperson for Sewell told WaPo. A person with Jones’s campaign also confirmed it.

Sewell has yet to announce official details about what the plans are for the the weekend campaign and is in works to get Rep. Cedric Richmond and Rep. Sanford D. Bishop to attend as well, Sewell’s spokesperson added.

“Terri Sewell has invited some of her friends and colleagues down to help, and we look forward to the weekend,” a spokesperson with the Jones campaign said.

Jones has been trying to recruit black voters, as they may be able to help him push ahead of the lead that his opponent, Roy Moore, currently holds.

“I’m especially excited to end this day, December 1, in Montgomery, Alabama,” Jones told a crowd at Selma. “The place where the civil rights movement truly began with one heroic seamstress who would not give up her seat.”

The representatives involved did not return The Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment in time for publication.

I wonder if this ought to be damage control, given what that silly race based ad was about, eh?

"That will only motivate Moore voters to get out and vote too."

Nobody here believes the MSM anymore. They can say anything they want about Moore and it won't change a thing.

So, a racist LIEberal Democrat is claiming that a former Judge, who has demonstrated time and time again that he IS NOT RACIST, is trying to convince Alabama voters he (Jones) is worthy of keeping his job by using a blatantly racist ad?

That will not end well!

Alabama voters are a lot smarter than that!

The false accusations card didn’t work. So now it time for the racism card. All this straight from the democrat playbook.

This only shows their desperation.

And bringing in leftist carpetbaggers is bound to backfire, as conservatives in the know will only be emboldened to more energy in this election by the invasion.

It's about time! Black Votes Matter!

The Left likes to pretend black voters are too dumb to understand that issues. They are wrong.
