No a footnote is good enough as it will read something like: The former US President elected under false pretenses was found guilty in abstnetia of criminal conspiracy, using the US government to spy on political rivals, amassing a personal fortune by bilking the US government out of 10 billion dollars, among the lessor charges.
Since he had fled to his native Kenya a bounty of 1 billion US was placed on his head - dead or alive. The bounty was collected, but the physical fate of the imposter and embezzler remains sealed ...
