Yeah, someone on FR once posted that an old person isn’t going to fight you, they’re going to shoot you. It’s just so much easier.
I sometimes walk the neighborhood with a big walking stick. It is lightweight, 1” diameter and almost 6’ long. It is about 10% heavier than bamboo. I’m too old to run from dogs and I don’t like to shoot them in front of little children in the park.
Well done article. As I approach 70, and am a small woman, short 5 ft, it’s not easy to fight off anyone bigger. But my 38 will bring you down. If that doesn’t work, there is always the 12 Guage with a pistol grip.
Some 1 ought to develop hearing aids you can wear to bed. I keep night lights on in all the main rooms, including our bedroom.
What bothers me most is those signs saying I can’t carry...unless it’s government property I usually ignore them. Most are up in DOCTOR/Hospitals, I use Amazon for most shopping any more.
