A 69-year-old man who law enforcement said was planning a mass shooting of the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida is to appear Tuesday afternoon at a bond hearing at the U.S. District Courthouse in Jacksonville.

"It's very sad that something like this was being planned or threatened in Jacksonville," Shaikh said. "Thank God that our law enforcement (agencies) were vigilant, that they got wind of it and handled it very professionally."

This goat palace is an in your face and ostentatiously gilded large building right next to a major freeway in JAX. No doubt paid for with Saudi money.
This whole story reeks. It is an old Filipino guy who was mouthing off about not liking muslims, and the only charge against him is attempting to buy a silencer. My guess is that the threat to muslims from this guy is way overblown, just to promote the “muslims as innocent victims” BS.
Can I volunteer for the jury?
Would a Muslim say thank God? Wouldn’t he say Allah instead?
Media sometimes say that Muslim terrorists have shouted God is great when they really said Allahu Akbar.
Just ask for a change of venue to San Francisco.
They `ll let him go free, no charges.
Their god isn’t named Allah - Allah is the word “god”.
So they can’t say god. And wouldn’t say God as much as you might thank Allah for something.
Also, their god wrote a book called the Haddith, where it’s not a translation from a prophet (like the Koran) it’s the actual word of their moon god telling them the rules. It’s the Haddith. So they’ll use Allah instead of God with much more common frequency.

Actually, if you read the criminal complaint, this sounds pretty much on the level.
The old guy is dying from kidney failure, and it sounds like he may have been serious about taking some muslims with him.
He told the undercover guy a story about how he shot an “asshole” back in the Philippines, and the one he shot “straightened up” after surviving the gunshot.
Mass shooting seems a plausible inference about his plans to me.
Naw, he’s an old man spouting off. Nothing in the article suggested he had any real plan to go through with it other than he actually owned a gun. Also, people who really mean to go on a shooting spree generally don’t talk about going on a shooting spree with strangers at a gun range. Only people spouting off with false bravado do that.

The UC had been playing “friend” for weeks, and pumping the old guy up about how muslims the UC had done contract work for were screwing him.
The old guy even offered to pop the imaginary muslim for the UC to keep his “friend” in the clear.
