He’s going to ruin their lives. An 18 year old kid isn’t ready for the NBA, as evidenced by his immaturity and recklessness in shoplifting while in China.
As for the younger one, who they claim to be homeschooling, I have my doubts that his “schooling” is anything but basketball all hours of the day.
Papa Ball said shoplifting ain’t no big deal...
Track, wall, see ya!!
WINNING
Unfortunately these losers will probably get picked for the draft which is more pathetic than anything I can think of.On top of the NFL disrespectful kneelers, will NBA knowingly hire thieves to play basketball? Hopefully the NBA will not succumb to this temptation... this guy will bring nothing but shame to that organization.
Yep, I’m of the opinion LaVar has no integrity at all.
I concur. I hope DiAngelo puts thievery behind him and continues to have gratitude when people are good to him.
Did he play in that game in china?
Al 4 touchdowns Bundy
No he was in jail.
I hope not. I’m pretty sure the statements they read at the apology press conference were drafted for them. They did deliver them with a face expressing sorrow for their actions.
That’s about the best you can hope for, but the one thing I would hope in addition, is that they understood the need for the apology, and the need to change their behavior.
If they took this to heart, I say good for them. I fully support them.
If they didn’t, I can’t support them, but more importantly the more likely something like what you mentioned could take place.
I hope good things for these kids, but with so many enablers at home, in the press, and in social circles to include celebrities and the like, it’s very difficult for young men these days to accept that they did anything wrong.
That’s an excellent path to ruining good young men.
I do too, and mostly for him. I don’t wish all kids who make idiotic mistakes to have lives of unhappiness and ruin.
I say best of luck to him, but he will ultimately be THE determining factor.
I agree.
wonder if it coincides with his loss of “preferred athlete status” at UCLA (as in no teachers giving him a free pass) now that he is persona-non-grata
UCLA cost $33,604 per year for a California resident.
http://www.ucla.edu/admission/affordability
If the young man were to attend for 4 years (4 x 33,604) a full ride scholarship would be worth $134,416.
The 4 years playing basketball on the UCLA team, and receiving top-notch coaching for those years, are also very valuable, though I can’t assign a dollar value to it.
Then again, the NBA pays its players very well. Time will tell if this move way from UCLA is in the young man’s best interest or not.
I was simply agreeing with your point that the kid should be given another chance and that most of us have done things we regret. Wasn't looking for a philosophical/religious debate.
Next question: Which college is willing to take a criminal?”””
NOT just the criminal-—it is a ‘two-fer’ with the unrepentant & idiot stupid father along for the ride who will butt into any coach’s face.
I will be amazed if ANY college picks him up.
I really feel sorry for those boys.
The father is a complete control freak.
Would any of his sons DARE to say they don’t want anything more to do with basketball?
.
I understand, and I agree with your point.
Sorry to have made it seem like I was gunning for you.
Sometimes I extend my remarks to address an issue more fully for a group type atmosphere, not to take the poster to task.
It is an issue I think about from time to time, and was just voicing my thoughts to see what others thought.
Take care.

The NBA. He’s perfect for them.
