Nolte: Obamacare Mandate Repeal Is the Most Important Civil Rights Victory in Years
Breitbart ^ | Dec 2, 2017 | John Nolte

Going all the way back to 2009, it was obvious Obamacare would end up looking like a Rube Goldberg machine powered by totalitarianism. Who would have ever guessed, though, it was such a fiasco that the mandate would actually cost the government money — a delicious irony that would result in its undoing.

It works like this…

For the sin of being born, Obamacare mandates that every American purchase health insurance. If we do not purchase this totally unnecessary, godawful product (more on this below), we are required by law to pay a hefty tax to the federal government.

Somehow, and I do not really care how, this tax actually costs the government money, some $340 billion — with a “B” — every ten years.

Only Bill Ayers’ pal and his merry band of congressional nincompoops could crawl so far up their own backsides that they were able to find a tax that increases the deficit.

But thank heavens they did. Had they not, the Senate would not have repealed the mandate Friday night.

After the humiliation of failing to keep their defining promise to repeal Obamacare, the Senate turned to tax reform, which also looked sketchy due to deficit projections. But then the clouds parted and the stars aligned with the discovery that repealing the Obamacare mandate would save the government this $340 billion.

"Talk about a win-win. Here was a way to kill the most hated (and crucial) part of Obamacare and pass tax cuts. And that is exactly what happened — the American people won a sweet two-fer: lower taxes and freedom from a fascist mandate."

The gov never had the right to force people to buy anything, and the “justice” roberts violated principles of law in declaring that the mandate was OK.

The media/left will spin this as millions of people being denied healthcare. [health insurance]

This brings to mind the old saw that if the Saudi government were to control sand, they soon would have a deficit. Government control of ANYTHING ultimately results in waste, fraud, abuse, and shortages. Life is a risk, any your health is about the biggest risk in it. Government control of your health is guaranteed to make it even riskier.

Wonder how many Dems love John Roberts now.

His decision....and he was not alone.... made this repeal of the mandate possible.

Obamacare was a scary precedent because it proved to me that if the government could mandate that, they could mandate ANYTHING, mass killings, outlawing the constitution, taking all your property, anything. The Obamacare mandate was so freakin’ unconstitutional it was insane, but they didn’t care did they. All you need is a wacko judge to redefine anything and it’s set in stone. THIS is EXACTLY why the 2nd Amendment is THE most important constitutional right we have because all it takes is the wrong people in office and it can all go to hell overnight where your life is in danger.

This is a bad analogy. Why? Because Rube Goldberg machines (No matter how convoluted) always worked.

“...roberts(sic) violated principles of law in declaring that the mandate was OK”

If memory serves Justice Roberts approved Obamacare because he successfully identified it as a tax. The administration (at the time) did not want it to be identified as a tax because it really was a tax and not a Health Care system - and that was the reason, the root cause of why it was even instituted was for addition tax revenue.

I have always maintained that government Healthcare is nothing more than another pot of money for use in the Never Ending practice of fiscal shenanigans.

It is a pot of money and the government gets similar pots of money through programs that they legislate.

It is a sham, it always has been, and it always will be. Not unlike Social Security and not unlike welfare dollars excetera... there is always going to be skimming off the top or blatant raiding of these accounts for quick cash.

Make no mistake about that.

You are exactly correct! What would be next? The government could force me to buy a car? Government already forces us to buy phones for non-workers, while workers have to buy our own phones.

My wife, adult children, other family members, friends and neighbors call me Rube Goldberg.

If I can’t buy a replacement part at Home Depot or ACE something that breaks down or until I can get to Home Depot or ACE and You Tube doesn’t show how to fix something, my creations work.

I read on another site that it was a Rand Paul amendment that got the individual mandate monkey off our backs. I wonder why he’s not getting more credit?

None of the proposed changes will effect your 2017 taxes,
which are due to be paid to the IRS in April 2018.
