Didn’t seem to hold Japan back.

Well, they went from one of the most advanced countries to one of the most backward during the last 220 of the 400 years.

Much of that was their unwillingness to accept foreign innovations.

They could do nothing effective militarily when Commodore Perry forced them to open up to American commerce in 1853.

It appears Japan is one of the few countries to have survived WWII with some sanity.

I think we killed off all of their crazies - then we turned around and elected ours to Congress. :)

Sweden, Denmark & Norway should have done as Abe is in Japan. In the remainder of my lifetime they will no longer be Swedes, Danes and Norwegians, they’l merely be people that live in those places.

That is no accident, no altruistic outcome. It is intentional cultural suicide, serving a Marxist/Progressive “scientific” rebuilding a civilization that - just like Pol Pot did violently - must be destroyed first.

The political elite of Europe is this era’s Pol Pot, acting by intentional subversion instead of by violence.

The liberals love to throw around this term, but Japan is showing true “moral leadership”.

Standing up for your society and citizens is what governments are supposed to do.

Japan has had an interesting time just trying to absorb Japanese immigrants from Peru, Brazil and the rest of the world.

nothing wrong with appreciation for the good in one’s own culture.

Yep. And the opposite sentiment is marvelously onomatopoeiaic: oikophobia.
