Trump Announces: 'The Tax Cut Bill Is Coming Along Very Well'

Although people increasingly suspect that President Trump's tax cuts aren't going to happen — ever — the president himself still has faith in his team and fellow Republicans to get it done:

[Tweet by President Trump]

Republicans have been working on these cuts for months, but so far all their efforts have been to no avail. One of the main reasons for the delay is that libertarian-leaning conservatives like Senator Rand Paul couldn't support the original plan because it would do nothing for the middle class — and could potentially even raise their burden.

Trump was reportedly angry when he found out that "the change would hurt some middle-income taxpayers." He responded to the criticism by saying, "we'll be adjusting" the tax overhaul. Since then, his team and prominent Republican members of the House and Senate have been working on implementing those changes.

Well, good news: from the looks of it, the adjustments seem to be taken care of. Senator Rand Paul has already said that "as it stands right now" he plans "to vote for this bill." He added: "I urge my colleagues to do the same." Senator Paul was thanked for those kind words by the president himself...

The big dog bites paul on the ass, and rand paul capitulates.

I'm more worried about 'little bob corker', flakey and traitor mcpain.

I wish President Trump would make a promise to all demonRAT senators in states that he won in a landslide, that if they don't vote for the tax cut, he will personally, actively and viciously campaign AGAINST them, in person, in their own state.

This is a huge mistake by Trump and the stupid party. You can lie to a democrat by telling them they can keep their doctor/plan and save $2500 and the stupid democrat won’t revolt.

But when you lie to a conservative and tell them that meddling with deductions for individual taxpayers is a GIGANTIC tax cut, there will be hell to pay. We aren’t stupid.

This has nothing to do with a simple conversation from Trump. Paul stands on principles more so than worship. Many conservatives have traded in their principles and refuse to call out bad policy in certain circumstances simply for “a win” or because “our guy” supports it.

Something has to have changed in the bill for him to have supported it. If not then I want nothing with the bill either. I’d like to see the revised version. As it stands right now the bill is garbage

They think we are stupid. So stupid that they think we’ll buy that letting us keep our money via these deductions is a “subsidy”. Meanwhile, Corporations get to keep these deductions. What a crock.
