It has been formally announced this 27th day of November in the year 2017 that a British royal - Prince Henry of Wales (known to drinking buddies as Prince Harry) - is marrying an American divorcée.

The last time this happened - in 1936 when King Edward VIII decided to wed American socialite Wallis Simpson — it triggered a crisis inside Windsor Castle.

For one thing, Simpson was about to divorce for the second time. Also, she was from Baltimore.

Those mainstream media monkeys have their panties in a wad because the Prince didn't decide to marry another man!

Someone could pretend for a long time to gain access to the position and power and wealth like she’s marrying into.

Worse from the Brit point of view, her father is Irish/Dutch.

This is simply a story about an American woman marrying an Englishman so that she can become a Welfare Princess in London.

That I don’t doubt.

Her?

Wouldn’t trust her as far as I could throw her.

I never could figure out multiple divorced people were able to snag another husband/wife so quickly. You’d think past history would be a HUGE red flag.

But nooooo...... some people don’t learn at all.

Her mom’s brother was a gang member from Compton. I’d say she hit the lottery.

Winston Churchill was a friend of Prince Edward and personally liked Mrs. Simpson. However, Churchill, PM Baldwin and Archbishop Lang (supported by many others) believed that the King, in his role as head of the Church of England, could not be married to a divorcee. This was the only objection.

Ironically, Churchill wrote Prince Edward’s abdication address which begins...

“At long last I am able to say a few words of my own.”

Well, I wish them both the very best. I feel apprehensive for Meghan. An American gal, with her own ideas, principles, and freedom of choice. I hope she can stand the “structured life” she is marrying into and “love” will be enough. They both look so happy. My best hope for the two of them is they can settle down away from the royal mainstream with few royal commitments and have a life to themselves.

He is 5th in the line of succession which means that he realistically not going to become King. But he is still required by law to get The Queen’s permission to marry. Apparently she has given her royal assent. I have misgivings about the marriage given that she has been around the block so to speak, and more than once. Though I would hasten to add that Harry has a reputation of his own. Her ethnicity is neither here nor there and shame on those posting racist comments.

A King Edward! He can pull a King Edward! I wonder if there is any cake left from that wedding?
