Africa will still depend on the white man to dig their water wells and poop holes.

No. The Fabian Socialists spelled it out -—since before Julian Huxley.

It is real-—and transhumanism is when Free Will is destroyed in man—and they become just a programmed robot-—like what Common Core is doing to our little children as I type. They have the integration of the brain destroyed so that thinking outside of the program is impossible-—just like with computers. (Thus, the “trans”-—we are no longer human because we are just reduced to non-rational cattle-—group “thinkers”.

Without free will (Individualism) we are not capable of reason and logic and thinking outside of the programmed (Marxist) box. Read 1984 and Brave New World to get a glimpse of the “smart” world.

BUNK!!
There is no cultural, anthropological evolution. Humans and society are basically the same today as they were 2000 years ago, probably 100,000 years ago. Technology changes. People do not.

Transhumanism is a farce. Will technology continue to change things? Yes. We will still be human and do stupid human tricks.

"This technology won’t even be an option. Opt out and you’re dead. Not a whole lot your guns can do against them either."

Opt out and I'm dead? Seriously? Many of these "crusty old folks" helped create the technology you are so proud of - and dependent on. We know how it works, how to break it and the really funny part - we know how you are going to end up smacking into the wall you don't even know you are running up on so quickly.

I expect to be in the Millennial Kingdom by 2030, ruling and reigning with Christ.

Just another tentacle of the Cultural Marxist’s psychotic disconnect from reality.... which unfortunately has largely been a strategically popular “success”.

“Transhumanism” is one of those glorious buzzwords that sounds great, people love to talk about, and means nothing.

The article’s points about where “transhumanism” is going:

- Our bodies will be augmented
- Our thought processes will be faster and more transferable
- Gamification and behavioral science will increase human productivity
- We will be more empathetic
- We will see the emergence of extreme personalization and customisation
- Business practices will shift significantly

Like most buzzword-driven discussion, seems participants merely use it as a Rorschach Test to apply their own preconceptions & preferred topics to.

To pointlessly rebut these:

- Our bodies will be augmented

Well, yeah. I’m augmented, so I have a clue about this. “Wearables” will become common, and there’s some surprisingly insightful sensors on their way; my Apple Watch monitors my activities well, and will be doing far more soon. Implanted sensors will increase; will be some time before people start implanting sensors _voluntarily_ instead of as a consequence of implanted medical devices (pacemaker, insulin pump, etc).

- Our thought processes will be faster and more transferable

We’re more likely to soon hit limits of what thought process can be, and what can be transferred. Cell phones already do this to a remarkable degree, giving one instant access to the bulk of human knowledge, and providing ability to publish content almost as fast. The “faster” concerns me, as I notice I develop headaches when the rate & variety of data increases enough.

We’ll see what happens with brain-monitor technology. Methinks that’s going to take a lot longer to develop than most hope.

- Gamification and behavioral science will increase human productivity

Not nearly as much as socialistic regulations vs capitalistic accommodation thereof. To wit: produce or die, and if you can’t produce >$15/hr of value, the Left won’t let you work.

- We will be more empathetic

BS. Social media has proven that. The only “empathetic” will come if there’s actual punishment for not empathizing correctly.

- We will see the emergence of extreme personalization and customisation

We will also see the consequences of typos aka inability to spell.

We’ve been doing pretty good on that front. The real kicker will be properly customized _medicines_, actually tuned for _your_ biology and not just generally applicable stuff most of us take.

- Business practices will shift significantly

Yup. They have and will. Ya know, I realized that the development of retail shopping as we know it - walk in, grab package, pay, walk out, no haggling - occurred not long ago because of the recent development of mass production & uniform packaging. Likewise, we’ll see rapid changes in business thanks to greater control & tracking.

...

So what?

How does any of this culminate in “transhumanism”?

I wish I had a dollar for every authoritative prediction I heard that didn’t come true. These financial and business “experts” are the worst.

It reminds of some episodes of Star Trek. I wonder if our brains could outlive our bodies.

The problem is extracting/copying the activity of mental sentience to an artificial “brain” to continue that activity uninterrupted. Since we have practically no idea what constitutes “sentience”, engineering manipulation thereof is a moot discussion.

OK I did - as you suggested - some reading up...

Transhumanism

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The transhumanist h+ symbol

Transhumanism (abbreviated as H+ or h+) is an international intellectual movement that aims to transform the human condition by developing and making widely available sophisticated technologies to greatly enhance human intellect and physiology.[1][2]

Transhumanist thinkers study the potential benefits and dangers of emerging technologies that could overcome fundamental human limitations as well as ethical[3] limitations of using such technologies.[4] The most common transhumanist thesis is that human beings may eventually be able to transform themselves into different beings with abilities so greatly expanded from the natural condition as to merit the label of posthuman beings.[2]

Are you kidding me? Where’s my tinfoil?

I’d sooner buy into global warming than this crap.

Transhumanism? Does it mean that liberals can identify as a Martian or a Vulcan? I’ll identify as a Conservative American, okay Libs?

There will be natural selection AGAINST transhumanism.
The men who pair off with sex bots overwhelmingly won’t breed. Their would-have mates may not have children, use pets or surrogate baby bots, or a few will use artificial insemination to have one child. Those who turn their backs to it will continue to have children, and the future belongs to those who show up.
Ditto on the “Singularity”. Those who upload their minds likely destroy their brains, and they’re essentially committing suicide.
