Al Franken says he ‘crossed a line’ while hugging women

Sen. Al Franken apologized on Thursday amid allegations that the Minnesota Democrat had groped women at campaign events— admitting that he “crossed a line” in some instances when embracing constituents.

The Minnesota Democrat, accused by four women of creepily touching them, issued his most detailed statement yet in explaining how he made such unwanted contact.

“I’ve met tens of thousands of people and taken thousands of photographs, often in crowded and chaotic situations. I’m a warm person; I hug people,” according to Franken.

“I’ve learned from recent stories that in some of those encounters, I crossed a line for some women — and I know that any number is too many. Some women have found my greetings or embraces for a hug or photo inappropriate, and I respect their feelings about that.”

Franken has yet to grant a formal interview to any reporter, since groping allegations were made against him.

“I’ve thought a lot in recent days about how that could happen, and recognize that I need to be much more careful and sensitive in these situations,” according to his statement.

“I feel terribly that I’ve made some women feel badly and for that I am so sorry, and I want to make sure that never happens again. “

The former “Saturday Night Live” funnyman vowed to win back trust of his state, implying he’s not stepping down from the seat he’s held for 2 terms.

“And let me say again to Minnesotans that I’m sorry for putting them through this and I’m committed to regaining their trust,” Franken said.

Too late. You need to resign.

Nope. Hugging is way different from groping so quit lying through your teeth.

He can’t remember his serial assgrabbin’? He’s just now learned that he feels up the womenfolk? Gotta be the worse excuse he’s come up with yet.

He only feels bad because he got caught.

He could have said this last week but didn’t, because these new women did not pop up yet.

He should move in with Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein, and then try to convince each other that the NRA did this to them.

“I’m a warm person; I hug people....”
Spoken like a true perv. Michael Jackson said he just loved kids and people didn’t understand.
Franken is claiming that women ineptly interpreted his personal warmth for unwanted sexual groping. Women aren’t stupid. Franken is not winning hearts and minds by portraying women as socially incompetent.

“Too late. You need to resign.”

Naa...please STAY RIGHT THERE, Mr. Franken. As long as you’re there, Roy Moore has a clear path to the Senate. After the election in 19 days, then yes, let’s dump him!

Stinkin', Stankin',
Frinkin', Franken,
Time for you to go.
Shut your mouth,
And pack your slop,
And drag your carcus home.

Lying sack of excrement.

When I saw him on set, he walked around like he was the biggest thing in the world. This guy has arrogance under his arrogance. Hefelt he was such a big star he could do ANYTHING HE WANTED. He probably felt he had every right to grab women by the whatever.

He doesn’t mean a word of these apologies.

I was impressed by a young lady who went to war with our HR department when that dept. tried to dispel her legitimate complaint about a company perv.

HR: “Have you tried telling him how his behavior makes you feel?”

Young Lady: “The problem has nothing to do with my feelings. The problem is his behavior and it needs to stop.”

That gambit of HR’s would have allowed blatant sexual harassment to be diminished to a “He was innocent good will but she didn’t understand and has to communicate her feelings better. He would have stopped if only she expressed her FEEEEEELINGS. She she she.....”

Franken seems to have received similar coaching. Minimize by leaning toward perception instead of his hand on her breast.

1) Time to resign, Al. Joe Barton too (just to be bipartisan).

2) If you intend to stay in Congress, Al, I suggest the best way to ensure that these despicable actions never happen again is to have both your arms cut off. The choice is yours, Al.

Lol! It paints McConnell in a corner. Meanwhile, on the House side, Ryan either speaks up about Conyers & other pervs benefitted by the hush-hush fund or shut up entirely.
