Paris wins battle to host European Banking Authority

Paris will be the new home of the relocating European Banking Authority, which is required to move from London following the Brexit vote.

A vote among the remaining 27 EU countries took place in Brussels on Monday to decide the future location of the EBA, as well as the European Medicines Agency — which is headed to Amsterdam.

At first glance, I thought it said “European Baking Authority”. Without knowing why there would be an European Baking Authority; I thought that it would be reasonable for it to be located in Paris.

Then, I noticed it was about a “Banking Authority”, and it struck me how weird the whole thing is.
