NBC sports announcer Al Michaels blamed Trump stoking tensions in the “take a knee” nonsense plaguing the NFL.
In an interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer, Michaels said he believed the kneeling controversy was simmering down until Trump weighed in, “once the president made those remarks in Alabama, at that particular point it was like throwing a match into a gas tank.”
I wish I could take credit for giving them trouble.
That’s like saying Charlie Rose’s accusers are to blame for his career troubles.
Al, better put some ice on that.
Simmering down? Nonsense. Blame Kaperpunk and Goodell, not the president.
So those of us that were telling the NFL to take a hike 9 months before Trump brought this up at a campaign rally were being led by the nose by events that had not yet occurred.
He is living in the leftists’ heads, rent free.

Michaels is rumored to be a Republican, too. I’m guessing he is more of a Never Trumper.

They had some pretty good athletes come through that Community College. Most of them were guys who didn’t have the GPA to get into a major university.

I’m still convinced it was rigged, considering the politics swirling around at the time.
Why does Al Michaels think for a second anyone is interested in his political opinion?
I thought he was smart enough to know being neutral on politics is what we want from sportscasters.
I guess maybe he wants to say it’s because of him the NFL is tanking.
