“To paraphrase Mark Twain, there are lies, damed lies, and then there is the Sackatomatoes Bee. “
The SALT deductions are taken by over 40 million Americans, in every Congressional district and every state.
If you made enough money to itemize you would know that.
For me it is a very small amount and would be more than offset by the increased standard deduction. I don't give a damn if people who vote for democRats in high tax blue states take it in the shorts.
And as always, the devil is in the details...if the overall tax structure is reduced to make up for the elimination of state/local tax deduction, then it should be a cause for Thanksgiving, not consternation.

40 million filers out of 150 million returns filed. And as you note, the deduction you are crazy about affects higher income people - as does all of our tax system.
EITC was created by Ronald Reagan, in return for the elimination of welfare that paid more than a job would.
Someone’s whining.
I’d LOVE to see a flat tax, or replacing the income tax with a sales tax. But it ain’t happening. Ever.
The people that actually PAY taxes are going to get SCRWED big time.
I live in Florida with no state or local income tax and reasonable property tax, and I am still looking at LEAST a $55,000 add to my taxable income due to the elimination of $14,000 in personal exemptions, $20,000 in mortgage interest, $5,000 in State sales tax deductions and $16,000 vehicle deduction for business.
That’s about $1,000 extra a month in taxes to the scumbags in DC.
Couple that with the $8,000 medical deductible thanks to Obamacare that these MF’s haven’t gotten rid of, and lets not forget about the 15% we are paying for FICA and Medicaid.
The only thing the GOP is able to accomplish is to RAPE THE MIDDLE CLASS?
If Trump signs this monstrosity he is a one termer for sure.
Living 45 miles north of Sackatomatoes, if there's anybody whose word I trust less than demoniacRATS, it's the Sackatomatoes Bee.
