Since announcing he will not seek re-election in 2018, Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) is on a warpath against President Trump.
While Flake is lamenting President Trump's rhetoric and nationalist, populist policies, it's important to remember the Arizona lawmaker has a checkered past as a foreign lobbyist who worked for a uranium mining firm with ties to Iran.
Yahoo News reports:
[Flake] came back to Washington [from Namibia] in 1990 and launched a consulting firm, Interface Public Affairs; he signed up the Rossing uranium mine, one of the new nation's economic drivers, as a client.
Flake signed on as the mine's representative a month after Namibia achieved independence. His job was to ensure that sanctions enacted by state and local governments in the U.S. didn't prevent the sale of Rossing "uranium to some of the utilities around the country," he said.
More recently, the Rossing mine has come under scrutiny for its financial ties to Iran. While the firm Rio Tinto owns 69 percent of the mine, the Iranian Foreign Investment Co., which the Treasury Department describes as a "wholly owned" subsidiary of the Tehran regime, holds a 15 percent stake. Iran has held its share of the company since the 1970s, said Rio Tinto spokesman Illtud Harri.
Flake said he was unaware that Iran owned part of the mine. Indeed, his 1990 federal filing states that Rossing was not "owned," "financed," "controlled," or "subsidized in part" or whole by a foreign government, although Iran and Namibia both held stakes in the mine.
Flake is in the news after being caught on hot mic saying Republicans are "toast," if President Trump and Judge Roy Moore take over the party.
"[If we] become the party of Roy Moore and Donald Trump, we are toast," Flake told Mayor of Phoenix suburb of Mesa Friday after taking questions at a town hall session.
Later, Flake tweeted a link to the story, saying "No news here. I've been saying this to anyone who will listen."
If true he ought to be tried for treason
The guilty scream the loudest.
Globalist vs citizens.
Flake was never on the side of the citizens.
We better start dumping globalists fast.
Uranium & Flake.
Uranium & Clintons.
Uranium & Harry Reid.
Uranium & Bundy ranch.
Uranium and fed departments.
Flake needs investigated for possible treason, but AG Sessions is a tool of the swamp and will protect him.
Oh my how I love ‘Sun Shine’!!!
Now let the warm, bright beautiful rays come out into the closets, desks, drawers, hidden rooms of all of Government, in D.C. and into every State of Our Country...
DC, home of the lawless (with exceptions).
Did Flake ever submit papers notifying that he was representing and acting as a foreign lobbyist ?
Flake and McCain, same swamp. Rotten communists liberals.
Answer: Arizonans favor McCain-alQaeda = ISIS
and Benghazi-DeadAmbassador = McCain-Hillary
and they do not care about the burnt alive women and men.
These are crimes and they are “ongoing crimes”. Treason should not be dismissed. Lock him up!
If Flake was involved, McCain was involved or for sure knew about it.
Flake never does anything without McCain’s approval
Many freepers were speculating that Fake got out of congress when U1 got a little too hot for the statist media to cover up with school shootings and such
Hear Hear !
Not just his loyalty to the Republicans, but his loyalty to America is suspect.
Jeff Flake may not be able to go into a self-imposed exile fast enough if this unfolds the way it looks at this point. While I am sure he has kept up his passport, could he get visas to the expected lands of refuge quickly enough to avoid arrest as he is boarding the international flight? Could he avoid extradition once he got to that destination?
Amen, bro. That's exactly what we're hoping for.
Yes he did, he registered as a foreign agent.
Exactly!! They know the truth is going to come out and they are trying to discredit the messenger. It’s the whole “Don’t look behind the curtain”. The closer the truth is to coming out the louder they scream.
