Hatch Blows Up On Dem Sen. Brown: Tired Of "That Crap" That Republicans Only Help The Rich (WOW)
Real Clear Politics ^ | November 16, 2017 | Ian Schwartz

With Video ----------------------- Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) admonished Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) for accusing Republicans of writing the tax bill "for the rich" at a late night hearing on amendments and markups. "With all due respect, I get sick and tired of the rich getting richer," Brown said in a diatribe against Republicans. "I come from the poor people, and I have been here working my whole stinkin' career for people who don't have a chance, and I really resent anybody that says I'm doing it for the rich. Give me a break. I think you guys overplay all the time, and it gets old. And frankly, you ought to quit it," Hatch told Brown. "What you said was not right," Hatch continued. "I come from the lower middle class, originally. We didn't have anything. So don't spew that stuff on me. I get a little tired of that crap. Let me just say something. If we worked together, we could pull this country out of every mess it is in. We could do a lot of the things that you are talking about, too. I think I have had reputation for working together." "I like you very much personally," Hatch said to Brown. "But this bullcrap that you guys throw out here really gets old after a while. And then to do it right at the end of this is just not right."

If we worked together, we could pull this country out of every mess it is in.

Probably true but no desire to do so on either side of the aisle.

Nice to see him finally grow a pair.

Must have been having a bad hair day. Not like Orin Hatch to be a real Republican .

Well, if Sherrod’s worried about the rich getting richer, then this bill should be right up his alley. By eliminating or reducing things like the mortgage interest deduction and SALT, taxes being raised on wealthy liberals is all but assured. :-)

The two sides are exact opposites and totally incompatible with each other. One side has to win and the other lose.

Exactly. How in the world can he say the adoring things about that puke bucket Brown while calling him on the carpet? Hatch’s replacement is no longer a sure thing so he decides it is time to get those campaign commercial snippets into production.

Personally I've never understood democrat intense hatred for "the rich", and their insistence on treating rich people like pedophiles or some other sort of filthy undesirable who's mere existence is evil.

I suspect that they believe in the Communist Manifesto maxim: "The bourgeoisie must be swept away and made impossible."

It’s very simple, Democrats love Rich Socialists but they hate Rich Capitalists.

They have turned half this Country into envious Morons who Vote for Democrats because they will stick it to their fellow Citizens who are successful in Life.

I find it amusing that Hatch and Brown are having this pissing match in a room packed full of Millionaires.

He is considering retiring.

Hatch, of all people, should realize that. So let's drop the "if we would only work together" crap, shall we?

They don't hate the rich. They are the rich! They are running defense for all the Swamp Creatures, like themselves, who feast off the government teat.

They are all in it together with few exceptions. They are interested in a complicated tax system that allows them the chance to ‘do favors’ for select people and industries who employ their friends and neighbors in the swamp.

If there was a lower tax rate and a more understandable tax system, why do we need all these lobbyists. No more lobbyists, no more ‘favors’ like fact finding trips, donations to their PACs and hiring the Senator's and Congressman's addle brained son-in-law for a six figure no show no work job. No need to lobby, what on Earth will they do once they decide to hang up the ‘Public Service’ racket? They almost all become million $ lobbyists after they leave.

It is all about them and their access to money and power through the never ending growth of the government. All provided by an archaic, archane, abusive and bewildering tax code.

You can be a patriot nationalist or a globalist one world government type, but not both.

Talk about crying wolf. Now the democrats are finally telling the truth about a tax cut. This one is a tax increase on many middle class Americans while increasing the # of people with no skin in the game (will pay no federal taxes).

We've got a whole lot of neither in Congress.
