The risk is that McConnells machinations will look to the grassroots like an establishment coup against a duly nominated candidate who so far retains the support of Alabama Republicans. McConnell already proved incapable of swinging the primary against Moore, even with Trump on his side and Alabama has a well-documented history of resisting federal authority.
Even if a victorious Moore is expelled from the Senate, it bolsters Bannons argument against McConnell. The populist rabble-rouser can say that the Washington establishment overrode the will of the people in Alabama and normal Republicans cannot be counted on to drain the swamp. And as one of the last national GOP figures still standing behind Moore, Bannon will look prescient, even if he merely got lucky.
On the ballot, it is Moore versus Jones. But they arent the only combatants in this unusual election.

It’s hard for me to rember the late seventies, but I was raised near Gadsden in my early years.. Spent my summers there. Poor southern moms would introduce and allow any Sugar Daddy to their daughter, in the hopes her daughter would have a better life. A 14 year old is very young today, but I don’t know about then.
If he did those things he could have admitted and explained.
I still support him because their wasn’t any rape, just some creepy behavior.
I am not the person I was in my unmarried days. And def not the person I was forty years ago.
I have seen many marriages where the husband is more than fifteen years older. Southerners marry early.

Interesting article.
I see a lot of the “4D Chess” that we all praised President Trump for during the campaign in this strategy of Steve Bannon. Assuming that Moore wins the election, this will be a victory for Bannon regardless of what McConnell does. If he seats him, then it will discredit McConnell, and if he tries to throw him out, it will enrage the base like nothing before.

I still think one of the best moves is to get the "Testimonial 12" (12 women who actually know him well praising Roy Moore) on a phone bank calling talk shows, news outlets and RINO Senators.
Also, there's no doubt a horde of liberal/RINO activists are rampaging around Alabama propagandizing and organizing local liberals. Expose them.

At a joint press conference with Trump in the Rose Garden, McConnell didnt mince words about how he felt about this gambit. Look, you know, the goal here is to win elections in November, McConnell said last month. Back in 2010 and 2012, we nominated several candidates Christine O'Donnell, Sharron Angle, Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock. They're not in the Senate. And the reason for that was that they were not able to appeal to a broader electorate in the general election."They all lost because of Rove and McConnell.

These men should be talking about issues because the average Joe does not care about personal feuds between politicians. I am sure these men agree on important issues. Can’t they work together where they agree?
To: OrioleFan
Yeah, that's a pretty good list of past GOPe betrayals, and it doesn't include the hatchet job they did in Miss. a couple of years ago.
The mask has been ripped aside, we have a good idea of where this attack on Moore originated.
Come Dec. 13 mitch is going to have a lot of explaining to do.

Precisely! McConnell and his RNSC spend more to defeat conservatives in primaries than they do to defeat Democrats.

Yeah, Mitch loves talking about O’Donnell, Akin and Mourdock, but he never mentions Pete Hoekstra, George Allen, Connie Mack, Eric Berg, Denny Rehberg, Tommy Thompson, and Carly Fiorina - all losers as well, and Establishment losers t’boot!
To: ManHunter
I sat out the Va gubernatorial election a few days ago because I will never vote for an Establishment RINO again. If the VA GOP foists another one of their Establishment hacks on us then I will actually vote for the Demonrat candidate.

The article repeats and links the false allegations against Moore. It’s clear the article is pro-GOPe/Uniparty. Vote Roy Moore for US Senate on Dec 12th.

This "14-year old" meme is getting old.

You left some off your list, Carly Fiorina, Scott Brown, Mark Kirk, Tommy Thompson.
Elections get won and lost by all people all over the spectrum. Only conservatives like Judge more get their own party spending millions of dollars against them in the primary, and continue to attack AFTER the nomination is won.
As Ted Cruz stated clearly and repeatedly on the Senate floor, and was not censured for it, Mitch McConnell tells lies.

It's been fairly documented through her sordid past that that woman was likely NOT 14 at the time - most likely 17. Even her family says she's a serial liar and all of them (even her son!) are supporting Moore. I would have thought that validating her age, and other assertions, would have been the first thing the Moore campaign lawyers would have done. As such, I'm not going to give much weight to the assertion that she was really 17 at the time.
