Quite faithful.
Here is the Prisoners' Chorus from the Met production. There is a prisoner who looks like Bruce Willis.

Did the original have spoken dialogue?
I know that Carmen did, and the recitative was added later.

Yes. “Fidelio” was a singspiel just like “The Magic Flute,” with spoken dialog. It was common in German opera at the time. Schubert’s “Fierrabras” was also a singspiel.

Bet you look forward to Thursdays. Suuuuuuuuure. LOL!
Will you split up the 4 stores and add them to your Wed. and Fri. schedules next week?
Ugly day here. Chilly, cloudy, and damp. I just stayed home since there wasn’t anything I HAD to do. Got the grocery shopping done last night.

I've been running around meeting the various players in the transportation scene and lunching with potential allies.
Weather wise, it's cooled off a bit. It's only going up to the low 80s these days. The desert is quite a change from the rain forest.
I enjoy the writing of position papers and such because it plays to my strengths. The meetings can be fun, too.
