Angel Soler's mother brought him to the U.S. as a young boy, figuring things would surely be better than in Honduras, where he had lived in one of the world's most violent cities. Javier Castillo's father made the same calculation when he took his young son out of gang-plagued El Salvador.

Life in the leafy Long Island suburbs of New York didn't prove to be any safer.

The gang has been blamed for at least 25 killings since January 2016 across a wide swath of Long Island. Earlier this year, both President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions visited Long Island with promises to help law enforcement stem the violence.

They can just move into New York City proper in that De Blasio has made it a sanctuary city

Judging by the election results a few day ago, 2/3 of NYC voters must have no problem with the sharp increase in violent crime.

And remember, Peter King, who represents a sizeable chunk of Long Island wants to grant blanket amnesty.

Liberals love violence. It gives them justification for more government oppression. After all, violence is caused by conservatives and the NRA.

One of the benefits of becoming a “sanctuary city” for gangstahs.

De Blasio and the residents of NYS welcome with open arms all of these undocumented gangbangers. So much so that the governor and the residents have granted them sanctuary to protect these poor, brutal thugs from the big bad federal government.

This isn’t NYC ... it’s the NYC suburbs. NYC has gotten so expensive that even welfare slugs can’t afford to live anymore in a city that subsidizes poverty. So they’ve migrated out to the suburbs to replace the Americans who have fled to North Carolina, Texas and Florida.

Honduras,...one of the world's most violent cities.

That would be San Pedro Sula, ranked #3. Ironically enough, my brother-in-law is from there but he's been a doctor here in the states since the late 60's. I've vacationed there many times in the 80's and 90's and had wonderful times but things started to change after 2000.

Drug cartels have taken over, drugs, kidnappings, murder and the protections rackets are rampant now. While he and my sister and their family still vacation in the Bay Islands, they refuse to step foot on the mainland.......His niece's son and two of his buddies were in the wrong place at the wrong time and disappeared a number of years ago. It's suspected they were involved in trafficking

Long Island? Too bad it isn't Westchester...Chappaqua’s in Westchester. And I'll wager that the majority of the NY Slimes senior management lives in either Westchester or Fairfield County,CT.

References to Brentwood and Islip.

I lived there for a while 50+ years ago; it was going downhill even then.

Yes, and Trump’s trying to stop them, while deblobio is hoping to bring in a lot more.
