‘What Happened? Ma’am…You Got Your Ass Kicked!’ Bannon Lambasts Clinton at The Citadel
breitbart ^ | IAN MASON

Posted on 11/11/2017 9:00:20 AM PST by davikkm

Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon addressed The Citadel Republican Society’s 2017 Patriot Dinner, regaling the crowd at the storied Charleston, South Carolina, military academy with tales of the 2016 Trump campaign, of which he was CEO. “Ma’am, with all do respect, what happened is that you got your ass kicked,” Bannon told the diners, mocking What Happened, Hillary’s heavily-promoted, 900-page tome on her unexpected defeat after nearly four years of anointment as the next President of the United States, in which she blames nearly everything but her own weakness as a candidate.

The remark came after a spirited recollection of the play-by-play of the roller-coaster election night that saw an ordained victory for Hillary Clinton transmute into the Trump triumph Bannon claimed to know was a “100 percent metaphysical certainty.”

Bannon explained the development of the Trump coalition that, in his words, “won the single greatest come-from-behind victory in American political history.”

When Bannon left the White House saying he could do more from outside, this is what he meant....

Why, when stating an obvious fact, do people use the term, “with all due respect,” (note spelling of due) when there is really no respect due? It is a waste of breath to say that to Hilliary (sp), she deserves no respect.

Could it be a smarmy way to inject the phrase insincerely?

And we need to take that ass kicking to the next level!|

“Ma’am, with all do respect, what happened is that you got your ass kicked,”

I have the curse of an old-fashioned education where these things just jump off the page at me. Then I lose respect for the author and editor and have a hard time getting back into the groove of the article.

There are a few possible explanations for author Ian Mason:

1. It was an auto-correction that he missed. Happens to all of us all the time.
2. He got a poor public education and is the sort of chap who writes "loose" when he means "lose."
3. He made a typo and all the editors have been fired at every publication across the land.

If I were in a generous mood this morning, I'd be inclined toward #1 or #3. But, after only two cups of coffee, I'll go with #2.

It would be fun to hear Mason explain the differences between idle, idyll, and idol.

It doesn’t specify any amount of respect, only that which is due. Which in some cases is none.

Trump has a unique set of skills:

He's brilliant
He's funny and extremely charismatic
He's built an empire of tangible things the hard way, not some .com phenomenon
He has a “protector” personality - he looks out for those he
feels are unjustly treated
He's an incredibly hard worker
He's a visionary

I'm sure there are more but all this in one person is so unique - especially in the political world - that I have a hard time thinking we'll ever see this again in many decades.

Really, I LOATHE that expression. Most of the time when people use it they have no feelings of respect for the person, due or not due.

“Ma’am, with all do respect, what happened is that you got your ass kicked,” Bannon told the diners...

Not sure she merits any respect, but that's a very accurate summation.

He was raised in the south. Manners matter here. Even if the recipient is not deserving of them.

You may have heard the term “well bless their heart.” It is not meant to be kind.

“With all due respect” adds dramatic effect.

Imagine him saying, “You got your ass kicked.” That sounds like something two guys talking would say to each other.

By saying “Ma’am” and “With all due respect”, he reinforces that it’s a former Secretary of State he’s talking to.

And it tones down the word “ass kicked” which is border-line acceptable in mixed company.

“Ma’am, you got your ass kicked,” is a line that endures in the brain. Not easily forgotten, like Obama’s “you didn’t build that” or Hillary’s “basket of deplorables.”

It’s proof that Bannon is a master of communication and media manipulation.

Even if I was a radical leftist who didn’t like Trump, I’d have to concede that ever president for the next 50 years is going to be a colossal disappointment compared to Trump — just for the entertainment value alone.

“And an ample ass it was!”

If you are close it will block out the sun. Those slip cover material pantsuits don’t help.

Plus they’re/there/their

Yep, today’s kid fail on ALL of them, don’t they? I attribute it to the “whole reading” method, a “modern education” fad that created an entire generation of people who cannot spell anything.
