That's exactly what they want. The never wanted to be the majority party. They had been gearing up to be the minority party in a Clinton administration. Trump's victory was a big upset to their plans, and they resent the hell out of it and US for electing Trump. And so they're absolutely willing to commit career suicide just to stick it to the electorate and POTUS. They're as sick as rabid skunks.
