If the animal escaped their control and injured another animal, that’s their defense.

If that is their best defense, then I would vote guilty. PetSmart needs to pay up.

I agree. They’re wild animals, not pets.

My girl kitty received all her care from the same vet for her entire life, and the staff came to know her well. She passed away at 18 a year ago today—Election Day.

I had a fantastic groomer,a local shop———she even took my dog home with her for a week when my entire family was across the country for a son’s wedding.

PetSmart groomers need better training.. maybe secured grooming cubes..

We stopped going there ,, the quality of the grooming was lacking, all the decent groomers have left.. one had too, she got bit badly by a German Shepherd and required facial surgery.

That’s cool if you know someone like that, but the only person I trust with my dogs is me.

Why would a pit bull need to be groomed......or any short haired dog for that matter? Bathing and nail cutting is no biggie.

I also know some groomers will not take breeds with “a history.”

Right you are. Recently a PetSmart opened up in our neighborhood. Our regular groomer flooded by Harvey decided not to come back....and I can’t blame her. Anyhoo, I went to the PetSmart still thinking about the “unthinking employees” from years ago that left a dog in the dryers and forgot about it and of course it died. I’m pretty sure it was a PetSmart because I asked if they used enclosed dryers and they said no way.......they blow dry only. Gotta say, our 4 babies came back beautifully and no worse for the wear. I feel so sad for the family in this case. I hate Pit Bulls have such a bad name but right, wrong or indifferent they’re dangerous dogs. Before I take my dogs back to Petsmart, I’ll ask if they groom Pit Bulls and if they do I’ll pay a mobile groomer to come to the house.

Seeing they referred to it as “another dog”, I assumed it was a BLACK Lab.

Betty needs to know her dog's playing in haven. God so loves little dogs, that there is a Dog door on Heaven's gate, so he can just go right in and play. Your dog is plating with mu little miniature-toy americium eskie, Zeus.

I use a mobile pet groomer who comes to my house, she does a great job and my dog never leaves my driveway. I would never trust my baby to any of the big chains. I did once and never again. They asked me to drop off my dog at 8:00am which I did. I finally called them at 4:00pm to ask what was taking so long.

I finally went to the store and waited for him and was able to take him home at 5:30. I left NO tip and never went back again.

If the pit bull killed another dog it should be reported and put on a required leash and confinement punishment for life. The second time it kills or attacks another dog it should be put down.

Heck, in my other post on this subject I forgot to mention our former groomer had a Pit Bull that stayed with her in the shop. An absolutely sweet dog but now I find myself saying that was possibly a tragedy waiting to happen....3 of our 4 are pugs/chug and our other is a Beagle. Whew!

Grooming entails a good wash, nails trimmed and their anal glands emptied. For some people bathing their animal is hard. My 40 lb mutt hates water. I can get her in the tub but keeping her in is hard. I’ll bathe her as long as I can but.......for the nail trim and anal glands I take her to our vet. No appointment needed and they get her in and out quick because she’s a spaz. If she wasn’t such a spam I’d probably take her somewhere like Petsmart and have them do it all even though she is a short haired dog.

They’re probably afraid to groom their own killers, so they brilliantly think they’ll just take the dogs in to the local pet store.

There is no reason for a civilized person to own any such dogs. There just isn’t.

>Bathing and nail cutting is no biggie.<

Nail cutting to many dogs sets off either fear or aggression. Depending on the dog, it can require anesthesia to cut a dog’s nails.

In other dogs, I agree, it’s no big deal.
